The Space

Located in the heart of the oldest medina in the world, a 5-minute walk from the Qarayouine and the main souks, DAR ELISA - privately rented - is easily accessible, very close to the entertainment spots, parking areas, taxis, and the main market of the city which is open daily. Experience the fascinating rythm of life of the medina.

Quiet and tastefully decorated, respecting traditional materials and fourniture arranged around a very pleasant and cool patio, DAR ELISA was completely renoved in 2007 and refurnished in 2010 and 2011. Decorative fountain and traditional mosaic flooring. High ceilings provide freshness and majesty. Furnished and lighted terrace with a stunning 180-degree panoramic view of the medina. As an option, Rachid, our local representative, offers four menus of very affordable authenthic maroccan meals prepared by two excellent cooks, Ouliya and Leila, as well as optioning cleaning. Various additional customized services available. Air conditioning in the second livingroom at the terrace level.

You may combine a visit to DAR ELISA in Fez with another stay at RIAD MAEVA in Marrakesh, our charming house in the Red City, only 300 meters from the world famous Jemâa El Fna square (posted on Airbnb website as well).

  • Dar Elisa is absolutely fabulous! Located in the center of the Medina of Fes, it is a beautiful and comfortable home with tons of charm and history. It was immaculately clean and has tons of communal spaces & cozy bedrooms. One of the best features is the fantastic view from the rooftop terrace! It is absolutely gorgeous!

Perhaps the most wonderful part of the entire trip was Bruno, Rachid and Ouliya! Bruno, the owner, was very prompt with emails, answered all our questions thoroughly, and arranged our driver and guide for the city. It was so simple and easy that it really just made the trip that much better. Rachid and Ouliya, the Dar's keepers, were so welcoming and helpful! Rachid met us upon arrival (so necessary as the medina is a quite a confusing maze to those new to it!) and led us to the home. From there he gave us a ton of great information, tips, answered our many questions, and arranged all the things we needed. Ouliya, his wife, is wonderfully kind and a killer cook! She made us an authentic and delicious dinner & breakfast that was just perfect.

I would highly recommend Dar Elisa to anyone coming to Fez as it was just the perfect place. Wifi worked great, very clean, and just a complete oasis amongst the exuberant chaos that is Fes.

  • And charming it was... we loved our stay in Dar Elisa. Rachid (the host) guided us in a pleasant way thru the for us complete new culture and helped us without taking over control of our holidays. The rooms ar spacious and the bathroom fine. The rooftop terrace is great, especially the view and furniture. Fez is a great city to visit and the riad is just a 5 minute walk from the centre of the medina (old city) and 20 minutes bij foot and bus/taxi to the new city.

  • Dar Elisa is at quiet part of Medina and yet not far from the main attractions in Fes. It is a very beautiful place with great views of Medina at patio. The host Rachid and his wife Ouilay are very kind and helpful. Ouilay and her mother also provide lovely meals. We will heartily recommend Dar Elisa.

  • Our host (Bruno's assistant), Rachid, provided us with warm hospitality and communicated well in English. He was very friendly and helpful, providing us advice on places to visit.

As for the house, it's conveniently located in the heart of the medina, and might be challenging to navigate the first time, but Rachid showed us the way and we were able to find our way around without much problems. The view from the terrace was magnificent, the rooms were beautifully furnished, and the optional meals were delicious - we loved the tangine!

Overall, a pleasant and delightful stay in the house.

  • Superbe riad!

A bientôt!
