The Space

***Please send me a message first before making a reservation, and read through the description as it likely answers any questions you have! I travel a lot for work, so this listing is for when it is the entire apartment. My other listing (found here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2422727) is for when I will be present, and it is a private bedroom instead of the entire apartment.***

***The calendar is up to date, so please input your dates and the price will automatically be calculated for you. ***

The room is very big (15x11) with a full sized bed (comfortably fits two), large desk, closet, and nightable. There is also an air-mattress if you would like, and I will provide fresh sheets and linens.

Free wi-fi and air conditioner.

The apartment has a stunning view of the East River, Brooklyn, and the Manhattan/Brooklyn Bridges. There is also a balcony with plants (and herbs which you can use to cook with), and two seats and a table to hang out on. It's a truly phenomenal view, and gives you a whole different perspective of the city.

The building and apartment are both recently renovated, and there is a doorman on staff 24/7, along with elevators in the building, a gym, and laundry room.

Extremely well stocked kitchen that is fully available for your use. Has plenty of spices, & herbs. There are cast iron pans, tea, grains, strainers, etc.
Dishwasher too.

Apartment is located in Lower East Side - with some of the best bars/restaurants available within walking distance. (Schiller's Liquor Bar, Doughnut Plant, Skal, Dimes, Cafe Katja, Sorella, Clinton Street Baking Company, WD-50 Restaurant, Il Laboratorio del Gelato, Katz's Deli, and much more). Overall great nightlife in one of the least touristy areas of Manhattan.

10 minute walk to the East Village, 15 minutes to SoHo, 25 minutes to the West Village, 10 minutes to South Street Sea Port and the Brooklyn Bridge. Across the street is Pier 36, which is a new event space that hosts many conventions and concerts. A little further North from there is East River Park, which is great for running, walking, or cycling right along the river.

  • We stayed 6 nights at Jared's appartment in May 2014 (2 persons). The appartement is exactely like in the pictures and description : spacious, beautifully decorated, cosy, really clean, balcony with a fantastic view on Manhantann Bridge and Brooklin Bridge.

We felt immedialtely like we were at home.
After visiting and walking all day, it's a real pleasure to come back and feel at ease.

The bed is comfortable, and we slept well - not really bothered by the FDR road in front of the building. The bathroom is also really good.

There's no TV but this was not negative for us, we didn't missed it as we're not TV fan and there're so much other things to do in NYC !

Really close : subway station, a bus station, several shops (groceries, delis...). We also often walked to Lower East Side and Chinatown/Little Italy which are in the neighborhood.

Jared is a great host, available when we had questions and answers really quickly, but also discreet. He did everything in order to help us and to make our stay goes perfectly.

    ******

  • We highly recommend Jared's apartment.
We spent a wonderful week in NY living with Jared. Tastefully decorated, clean, with a wonderful view. Contact the owner ideal. Jared was helpful during our entire stay in NY. Excellent location. Only 5 minutes to the metro station. We will definitely return to Jared when we are in NY

  • We never actually met Jared in person, but he was a great host and was very flexible and responsive in all communication.
The apartment is great, on the 9:th floor in a doorman building. Very nice and clean and all images in the ad describes the place very accurately. And yes, that view from the balcony over the Manhattan bridge really is awesome!
I will recommend Jareds place to friends and would come back if I needed a place to stay on lower Manhattan in the future!

  • We booked a last minute one night stay at Jared's apartment in April 2014. Jared was very accommodating for me and my boyfriends last minutes plans. He was clear on how to check in and always had good communication with us even though he we never met him, since he was away traveling. When we arrived to the apartment, about a 5 min walk from the subway, we were happy to see that the building was really nice and had a doorman which made us feel safe. Jared's apartment is BEAUTIFUL! It's decorated really cute and has the BEST view of the Manhattan bridge! Seriously, the view was breath taking. The location is good, we took a cab from dinner in the east village and it was only $6. We only stayed only one night and left early morning to catch our flight but we had the best time. Next time I'm in New York, I'll check to see if Jared's place is free because it is really nice!

  • I had a great stay at Jared's apartment. Jared was away the weekend I stayed - so while we didn't get to meet he was quick and clear with all communication. The apartment is amazing - with great views and a really nice vibe. The location is great too -very easy walk up to LES restaurants and bars. Highly recommended.

  • Thanks to Jared, we had the best bed-n-breakfast we could wish for in New York City. A truly unique location (and view). Also a great connection to the F metro line up to manhattan and down to Coney island. As a first time Airbnb user, I was pleasantly surprised - as it felt like 'living in NYC' for a little while :)

    March 2014
  • The apartment is great - beautifully decorated, spacious and with lots of light. It also has a great view of the East river and Manhattan bridge.
The area is a bit desolate and there isn't much in the immediate vicinity - the subway is just a five-minute walk away though.
Jared is very friendly and easy to deal with.

  • Jared was a great host. He was always available when necessary, but left you alone to do your own thing. His apartment is very cool and roomy for NY.

This is not a criticism, but the area isn't the greatest and it can be a little dark near the entrance to the building. I had no problem with it, but if you're particularly sensitive or fearful, this could be an issue. I mean, it's NY after all. Expect a little grittiness.

  • Jared's was an excellent airbnb experience: clear and prompt communication, pain-free check in and out, spotless apartment (and *bathroom*), convenient location, comfortable room and bed, amazing views, stocked kitchen (I sadly didn't use). Jared was friendly and engaging, but gave me the space to do my own thing. I ended up spending an entire day in the apartment during Winter Storm Pax, and felt at home. The apartment was well decorated and had personality. If you took the time to look around the living area, you'd get a better-than-usual sense of the person living there, a perk in my book.
