About This Listing
Architect-restored period house in leafy Goldsmith street, Dublin 7.
15mins walk to the city centre spire. 15mins drive to Dublin airport.
Ideally located for museums, shopping, parks and nightlife.
The house is a large red brick Victorian townhouse, 2 levels, with small gardens front and rear. We, the owners, live mainly on the upper level and rent out 2 bedrooms on the garden level.
The main bedroom available in this listing is large and airy with period features, 20m2 with high ceilings and a cast iron bed 1.4m wide.
There is a second bedroom similar in style to the larger and is 14m2, the bed is 1.2m wide. It's on offer for 35euro extra if there are more than 2 in your group or if 2 individuals want separate rooms. (If for either of the above reasons you want to use the second room, please book as 3 people).
The shower room is a modern design. There is also a modern kitchen and living room that you are welcome to use. All open out onto a private rear urban garden.
No doubt you'll be satisfied with this green and central location, and we're LGBT friendly.
Any space on the ground floor: the kitchen, living-dining, bathroom, and your bedroom of course.
Interaction with Guests
I will generally be in the house when guests are staying and in this case will be there to give advise or answer questions about the house and the local area. However my partner and I have our own bathroom, kitchen and living room on the upper level so we will give you your space.
Broadstone is a city centre neighborhood with a sleepy residential feel. We are about 15mins walking to the spire on O'Connell Street which marks the centre of the city. Here you will find the shopping high street as well as restaurants and nightclubs.
If you tire of shopping on nearby O'Connell street or the nightlife of Templebar, you will be glad of our Dublin 7 location. From here you can visit Francis Bacon's studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery, the magnificent Botanic Gardens, the Phoenix Park, or just stroll along the Royal Canal.
Although only 15mins walking to O'Connell Street there are many transport options:
We are 50m from DublinBikes station no.12. (email hidden).
We are 50m from Bus stop no.817 served by:
Bus 46A, 38A and 120 to the city centre.
There is also a taxi rank here.
We are located on the AIRPORT side of the centre so you'll have easy access:
Take a taxi here for about €20.
Take bus 41 or 16 to 'The Big Tree' pub on Dorset Street at the junction of North Circular Road. Walk West along North Circular Road for 8mins, turn left and you're here! Costs €2.60.
(only better during rush hour or if you want to visit the city centre before checking-in):
Take the express buses 747 or 'Aircoach' to the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell street and walk North 15mins from there. Costs €6.
There is also on-street parking outside the front door. Please ask me about this and I can give you a 'parking disc'.
Other Things to Note
I provide bedsheets and towels, so no need to bring your own.
No Smoking or Pets inside.
No Parties or Unregistered Guests
Please keep the noise levels down at night time
Thanks so much!
This is a terrific, well designed apartment with a little garden area too. Paul was very welcoming and provided lots of information about Dublin. The neighborhood is not super close to the center but still close enough to walk to the main attractions. We enjoyed being a bit off the beaten path. Highly recommended.
The house is only a 15 minutes walk away from the city centre, so it was perfect for our visit in Dublin. The rooms were very tidy and comfortable. We had all rooms, the bathroom and kitchen on the ground floor for ourselves. Paul also provided lots of leaflets, maps and tour guides about the city. We had a lovely stay, thanks again for having us!
I came with my mum to visit Dublin and find a place to live. The description on the website was exactly what we expected, it was even better. The house is nicely decorated and so spacious! The possibility to go on the terrasse is a very appreciable point. Emerson and Paul gave us all the information we needed concerning the area. The place is so peaceful, you will like it for sure! All the shops are close to the house, buses too. I recommend the place and the hosts!
The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood at walking distance from the city centre of Dublin. Perfect! The room and house itself are nice and clean. Paul provided us with plenty of information, maps and recommendations for sight-seeing and eating out in Dublin. We had a great stay and certainly recommend staying with Paul and Emerson.
We really enjoyed our conversations with Paul and he was very helpful in providing information about the local area. His accommodations were sparking clean and very updated while still incorporating the historic aspects of his home. He ordered us a taxi for the morning when we were scheduled to leave. His place was an easy 20 minute walk to O Connell Street and the downtown area, and busses were available a block away. We would definitely return to his B&B if or when we return to Dublin. This was our first experience with Airbnb and we loved it!
