There are pleasant walking and cycling routes along the river into the centre of York and a frequent bus service takes 20 minutes to reach the city.

We felt spoiled by Gabriele and Jules from day 1.. picked up from the station, fruit in our room.. and lovely little ensuite bathroom. A nice walk to town along the river.. or easy to take a bus too. We enjoyed our talks with them about gardening, sculpture and lots more. We heartily recommend this as a place to have as a base in York.
It was a really nice experience to stay at Gabriele's place, I found it quite comfortable, managed and moreover with a feeling as if I am at my own home. I will definitely like to stay here again in future.

My partner and I had a fantastic time visiting York. Gabi and Jules were extremely accommodating and made our first experience with Airbnb a fantastic one. Their house is cosy, warm and very clean and they are well prepared to welcome guests with all the information they will need for their time in York.
Gabi and Jules are very genuine people who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They gave advice about what to see and do, a guide book, pamphlets and timetables, a map, they took an interest in us and made us feel completely at home in their home.
Gabi also went out of her way to accommodate my special dietary needs which was above and beyond what I would expect.
Thank you both and we hope to see you again some time.
I stayed with Gabi and Jules for 4 nights and they were perfect hosts. The room was lovely to stay in and had everything I needed. Evening meals with these two are fantastic as you get to sample some of Gabi's amazing food from ingredients I have never heard of before! Jules provides lots of interesting conversation as he a very knowledgeable man with a keen interest in science.
Neat and comfortable room and ensuite in the loft, making for a private living space. The host was very helpful in providing information about York.
Gabriele and Jules were great hosts, even inviting me to share an evening meal with them when I turned up late on my first day. The room was very clean , comfortable and quiet. I would gladly recommend them to anyone and would happily stay with them again.
When I had a hiccup in my travels, Gabi's and Jules' home was the 'safe haven' I wanted to return to and what a delight it was to see them again. If you're looking for a home away from home, this is the place for you.
It was a lovely experience spending time with Gaby and Jules in York. They were very generous with their space and sharing meals. The room is very quiet and the bed was so comfortable. Lovely bathroom with a bath and shower. It's a lovely walk into town and there is a bus route close by. Highly recommended!
Gabi and Jules were perfect hosts during my stay. They were warm, friendly, extremely helpful, and just lovely! They made me feel comfortable and well cared for, and it was a pleasure to chat with them at breakfast time. My only regret is that I could stay just for one night!
The room is a very nice ensuite, spacious, quiet, and very clean, with a big window, a comfortable bed and lots of space in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom has shower and bath, and equipped with towels and toiletries.
Gabi and Jules made my stay really easy as they helped me at every stage of my trip with useful information and just great hospitality. They picked me up from the train station and drove me to the University, gave me a map of my route to their house from the venue on campus, and took my luggage to my room.
I loved Gabi's and Jules' company, and I will definitely stay at their place if I visit York again. I highly recommend staying with them.
