We have the main floor of our bright and comfortable home available for nightly & weekly stays. We have one bedroom with a queen bed, small bathroom, well stocked kitchen, dining room & a cozy living room that is perfect for 2 people. In addition, we have our son's small bed room with a child size bed for anyone traveling with little ones.
We are located in NE Portland in the Piedmont neighborhood, a 10 min drive from the Portland airport, 7 min drive to downtown (easy freeway access) and minutes from the trendy Mississippi & Alberta Arts neighborhoods. We are a 5 min walk to a lovely coffee shop and restaurants. We also have a wonderful grocery store (New Seasons) just one mile from our house. Beautiful Peninsular Park is not too far to enjoy a nice walk through or a picnic on a warm summer night. During the winter months, the park is still lovely to enjoy. Our location is very ideal. We live on a quiet street but we're just a few blocks away from a couple of main roads (which all have public transit) that can take you across town, to other neighborhoods, and to the freeway. We also have a max station that is located one mile from here (next to New Seasons Market).
We will provide a great deal of restaurant & shopping recommendations, general house info, and keys for our guests upon arrival. Also, there will be fresh eggs from our happy hens!
**Please review the House Rules section for additional information on our place. Thanks!
My mom and I stayed here the night before my wedding at Peninsula Park. We were looking for a place that was close to the park, calm, private, and beautiful - and we found it at Elsa's! If I ever have friends coming to visit, I'll definitely recommend that they check it out!
Elsa was a great host — her home was beautiful, and there was a great list of things to check out nearby.
We loved our month long visit with Elsa, Zack and Bennett. It was perfect for location and convenience to our family we were visiting and Elsa was just the best hostess possible! She welcomed us warmly, recommended anything we needed but at the same time respected our privacy. She shared everything from restaurants, shopping, activities, salons, and even some of her delicious homegrown tomatoes. On top of that we loved the house, it's bright colors, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable surroundings.
Thanks Elsa for all you did to make us feel we had a home away from home!

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week at Elsa's place in Portland and we would definitely do it again. The apartment is bright, clean and cosy and we immediately felt at home there. The kitchen is well-equipped and cooking there was super easy.
Elsa is a great host. She is welcoming and open and we enjoyed meeting her. Their dog and two cats were incredibly cute and they made our stay even more special. I fell in love with the cat Marley, who was the cuddliest and most affectionate cat, I've ever met! North East Portland is a great area full of nice restaurants, coffee shops and cool boutiques and if you rent bikes, like we did, everything is very accessible from Elsa and Zach's place. We especially enjoyed hanging out on Alberta Street, which is a walkable distance from the apartment. We had a great time at Elsa and Zach's appartment and would surely recommend staying there!
Our stay at Elsa's was awesome!! She was very helpful with suggestions of things to do, see, and places to eat!. Me and my girlfriend had a really great time. Elsa's place is very nice with a really wonderful coffee shop close by. We did however rent a car because we really wanted to go to a lot of places including the coast which was amazing. The apartment was great and has everything you would need to enjoy your time in portland! We didn't sit around the place much but they have a really great selection of movies and an amazing selection of comics! (You probably won't even be hanging around the place much because there is so much to do and see.) Elsa was very accommodating and answered all the questions I had right away. Like I said. I loved our stay and I can't wait to come visit again. Thank's Elsa and Zach!
Elsa was wonderful. Even before our trip she was not only very responsive to my travel questions, she was quick to follow up and offer extensive details and ideas for our free time when in Portland.
The accommodations were well represented, very clean and Elsa, her husband and son were the hosts that made you feel welcomed and not bothersome with continued questions.
I would eagerly refer friends to follow our lead when they visit beautiful Portland. And should we have the good fortune of returning, Elsa will be our first call.
I had a wonderful stay in Elsa's apartment. She responded quickly to all my little requests and made sure everything was there to make my stay perfect : she has a list of restaurant recommandations nearby, instructions to use the TV are well explained, you find everything you need in the kitchen, etc. The apartment is huge and very clean, with lots of space to put your things. At first, Elsa's house may seem that it's a little far from most Portland's attractions (especially if you don't have a car) but it turns out to be very convenient by bike.
We had a delightful time visiting with some family that lives nearby to Elsa's house. It was so conveniently located for us! And the house is delightful.....a bright and happy space, loved the art work! The owners were easily available to answer any questions we had. The kitchen was well equipped! Thank you, Elsa and family!
I didn't actually stay here but my partner did... he said "it was a nice place". He's famous for his laconic style.
We had a wonderful stay at Elsa's place. She and Zach were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was good too - quite close to Mississippi Records and the lovely Alberta street.
