We are a family of four living a short stroll from Richmond Park, Europe's biggest city park, with easy transport links to central London. We are in Sheen, part of the borough of Richmond. You can wander through the park into central Richmond, a gorgeous villagey part of London, full of Georgian and Victorian architecture, with boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas. You might want to take a riverside walk down the beautiful Thames river to Hampton Court, or walk up Richmond Hill to get a (email hidden) and drink it overlooking the famous view westwards, or check out nearby Kew Gardens. We have an award-winning gastropub with roaring fires just round the corner from us. We're a fifteen-minute drive to Kensington high street, though you may prefer to take the tube from Richmond.
The house is modern, with all mod cons, but is nestled among Victorian cottages, in a cute street with mock-Victorian lampposts. We have three double bedrooms, one of which has a single bed in, but we have a comfy double blow-up Aerobed if you want to use that room as a double. On coming into the house you enter a large sitting room/dining room with a big sofa, TV with freeview, and a table seating six. The eat-in kitchen opens out into a lovely two-level garden, which is petite but has everything you need, with plants including rosemary and a mini oak tree, a dining table with sun canopy for hot days and a Weber barbecue. Upstairs, there are two floors of bedrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room, and there's a family bathroom with bath and shower, and a downstairs cloakroom. We love this house, and have lived here since it was built in 2007. We also have a driveway, which is very useful in London if you're bringing a car. And we have wifi.
We had a lovely week at Susannah's house during the easter break. (email hidden) for families and children will especially love the house. The house is well located to visit London and the surroundings but also allow you to escape for a relaxing sleep afterwards. Susannah (email hidden), even left us some basics to start our stay. Will definitely be back in the future.
This house is located in a quiet and nice neighborhood close to Richmond Park - a lovely park with beautiful surroundings.
You do not need to go to Oxford/Regent street for shopping - Richmond has all you ever need- there are nice cafe´s and restaurants and do not miss to stroll along Themsen - have an icecream or a drink at one of the pub´s close to the waterline.
Susannah, the owner of the House, is very accommodating, helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay. We were 6 adults for one night and Susannah arranged with an extra bed for the 6th person in the company without any problem.
