The space

Experience the good life in the heart of California's Central Coast, Arroyo Grande. Relax in the privacy of an artfully appointed guest room that opens through French doors onto a secluded, landscaped Mediterranean-style courtyard (for your use alone). After the day's activities, sunbathe or read by the gently gurgling fountain. Sip wine or chat together under a starry night sky while enjoying the ambiance (and warmth) of a fire bowl. A bountiful breakfast featuring local, seasonal treats from the Central Coast will be served in the courtyard to a chorus of songbirds, if requested in advance and weather permits. (Breakfast served Saturday and Sunday only.)

With its own entrance, your guest room features a queen size sleigh bed (with lots of pillows and a down comforter) as well as an en suite shower and jacuzzi. Electric kettle, coffees and teas, Bose iPod speakers, hair dryer, magnifying mirror and wireless internet are also provided. Beach chairs and beach towels are also available for guest use. There is no TV in paradise.

My home is centrally located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on California’s spectacular Central Coast just ½ mile off the 101 in a quiet residential neighborhood. Beautiful beaches and miles of sand dunes (5 min), vineyards and wineries (5 miles) abound. Walk the piers at nearby Pismo and Avila beaches. The charming Village of Arroyo Grande (2 miles) and the culture and night life of San Luis Obispo (10 miles) are on everyone’s must-see list. (Don’t miss the Thursday night farmer’s market in SLO.) There are great restaurants to match everyone’s palate and budget, and I can provide you with a book of menus, as well as directions to local attractions.

Going a bit further north, most tourists visit Morro Rock in Morro Bay (30 miles) as well as the incredible elephant seals in Cambria (50 miles) and Hearst Castle at San Simeon. Traditional California landscapes and more wineries entice travelers to Paso Robles (45 min.) and Lake Nacimiento (one hour).

This place is fairly convenient to the freeway. We made multiple trips up to the university and had a great time with our son. This is a repeat visit and we stopped by Avila beach... very peaceful and beautiful.

This host clearly loves what she does. You'll get an exquisitely decorated suite with courtyard in a fantastic neighborhood in a great city. She has gone to great lengths to set up the perfect B and B experience for you. Of course you're the only guest, and she is as available as you would like her to be. If you're a nature lover, check your trails app and you'll likely find 50 trails within a 20 mile radius of here, but don't miss the trip to the beach and dunes just down the road. And best breakfast ever! (Bummer the water restrictions discourage hot tub use).

Gay was such a wonderful host! The breakfast in the mornings made it extra special to stay with Gay! And we loved the conversations. I wish we could have stayed longer! The location is excellent as well; only 5-10 minutes from the beach, and it was so quiet and peaceful staying in the beautiful room.

Gay's airbnb is a peaceful retreat, with a comfortable bed, beautiful art, spa-like bathroom and a lovely garden patio area to drink your coffee in the morning. Gay is a gracious, generous and a friendly host and I hope to be able to stay there again someday.

Elegant in a simple way. I enjoyed the artwork on the walls. Large bathroom. Very clean and quiet. A very nice enclosed courtyard at the front of the house made the place even more peaceful.
