The space
Villa Sivakka is a two-house hideaway 25km north of Äkäslompolo at the beautiful and quiet Äkäsjärvi lake. It is best suited for families or small groups who are looking for a peaceful stay in Lapland. You will enjoy quietness, world’s cleanest air and great views, and have easy access to outdoor activities.
The architect-designed cabin completed in 2015 offers has beds for maximum of seven people (3 x double beds + 1 single). You will have a view to the wilderness of Lapland with the comforts of a contemporary house. The central dining space includes a 3,5m window with a view to the lake and nearby forests.
The old cabin (built 1978, renovated 2017) is situated next to the lake and houses the sauna. It is perfect for late evening chill-outs next to the fireplace. From it's sauna you can literally step into the water since it's situated right at the lake, or during winter you can jump in the snow.
Guest access
During your stay you will have access to both cabins, including the sauna. You will be provided with firewood to light a fire in the fireplace or heat the sauna. Please note, that additional firewood has a fee. There is a free high-speed wifi connection at the cabin.

Please note that staying in Lapland might include unplanned surprises such as cold spells, snow storms etc. which might influence your stay. Ask me for details on how to prepare for your trip.

Muonio, Finland
You can have fun in Lapland regardless of the season. During summer months you can enjoy the lake, go for a row or fish using the nets and rods available. Nearby you have access to walkpaths in the most beautiful fells in Finland. During winter Lapland's best skiing resorts are just a short car ride away, but you can also stay at the cabin and keep an eye out for the northern lights through the large main window.
