The house is a colorfully decorated craftsman located just 3.5 miles from downtown Portland, in the east-side neighborhood of Creston-Kenilworth. Easy access (by public transportation, car or bike) to downtown and many of Portland's great restaurants and neighborhoods.
Our home is a spacious 1913 craftsman with a convenient location. This well-appointed house is filled with natural light, hardwood floors and original charm. We have comfortable living quarters in which you are welcome to make yourself at home - living, dining, kitchen, and a shared bathroom as well as a great sitting front porch and a nice sized back yard ready for relaxation. We also share our house with two friendly cats.
The light-filled and spacious guest room has a queen-sized bed, semi-private access to the bedroom via the foyer, in-room coffee and tea as well as a closet, dresser and a small work desk for your use.
Our Creston/Kenilworth neighborhood has a beautiful park, coffee shops, pubs, cafes, a pizza place, a Mexican restaurant and one of the best sushi restaurants in town. We are also close to a variety of grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Safeway, New Seasons (think Whole Foods) and a co-op).
We bike most everywhere we go, and might even have two bike/helmet available for your use. Otherwise there is plenty of street parking available and we are also close to two bus lines that go downtown and to many of the unique Portland neighborhoods.
Location: 10-15 minutes to downtown by car / 25-30 by bus. 25 minutes driving from the airport. One mile to Clinton/Division neighborhood (restaurant central), just a bit more to the Hawthorne neighborhood. And in the other direction we're less than a mile from Reed College and East Moreland and Sellwood beyond that.
Guests have access to the common rooms on the main floor of the house, including the shared bathroom, living room, kitchen, and dining room. Also including outside access like the back yard and front porch.
Interaction with guests
Our interaction is as little or as much as the guests prefer. We've had guests that we share a glass of wine, a meal and travel stories with and others that keep much to themselves. Whatever you're looking for, we're adaptable.

We love our home and would expect you treat it with the same respect you would your own. We also love our cats and ask that you help in keeping them indoors. There is no smoking or tobacco in the house or on the property, thank you for your understanding.

I am an artist/designer in Portland. Along with my husband, Marshall, we love sharing our space with others who enjoy traveling, and the sharing community. We enjoy meeting people and exchanging stories, often over a cup of coffee, tea or a glass of wine.
We are active and try to spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors. Hiking, biking, and running are choice outdoor activities. I am also very interested in photography, art, and design - it is my profession after all. And my favorite indoor activity involves cooking and eating. I love to share my creations, so pop in the kitchen and say hello!
