Our home is a spacious 1913 craftsman with a convenient location. The house is filled with natural light, hardwood floors and original charm. We have comfortable living quarters in which you are welcome to make yourself at home - living, dining, kitchen, and a shared bathroom as well as a great sitting front porch and a nice sized back yard ready for relaxation. We also share our house with two friendly cats.
The light-filled and spacious guest room has a queen-sized bed, semi-private access to the bedroom via the foyer, as well as a closet for your use and a variety of guidebooks for Portland and surrounding area.
Our Creston/Kenilworth neighborhood has a beautiful park, coffee shops, pubs, cafes, a pizza place and one of the best sushi restaurants in town. We are also close to a variety of grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Safeway, New Seasons (think Whole Foods) and a co-op).
We bike most everywhere we go, and even have one bike/helmet available for your use. Otherwise there is plenty of street parking available and we are also close to bus lines that go downtown and to many of the unique Portland neighborhoods.
Location: 10-15 minutes to downtown by car / 25-30 by bus. 25 minutes driving from the airport. One mile to Clinton/Division neighborhood, just a bit more to the Hawthorne neighborhood.
Guest has access to the common rooms on the main floor of the house, including the bathroom, living room, kitchen, and dining room. Also including outside access like the back yard and front porch.
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction is as little or as much as the guests prefer. We've had guests that share a glass of wine and travel stories and others that keep much to themselves while in our house. Whatever is desired.
We love our home and would expect you treat it with the same respect you would your own. We also love our cats and ask that you help in keeping them indoors.
My 9 year old son and I stayed with Amy and Marshall for our first ever airbnb experience. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. They were super friendly and accommodating and the room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here!
We had a great stay at Amy's. She already had plenty of great reviews, and I can only fully agree with them. Her house is amazing, the room is great! Very spacious, with plenty of light. But Amy goes above and beyond with her offering of in-room amenities. The neighborhood is ideal, very close to SE Portland hotspots, as well as public transportation. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Amy and her Husband were friendly, welcoming and made for an enjoyable stay. The room was great, very clean, very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay. Good location easy parking; I would recommend.
Amy and Marshall were terrific hosts! We arrived to see the conditioned better than many hotel's that would have been priced 3 times more. They have a beautiful home and walking distance to many restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay at their place again.
Amy's place is beautiful and very well located. It is super well decorated and it has a very nice porch to enjoy the last sunshine rays of the day. Amy made us feel very welcome and we ended up staying one more night because this place was so great! Thanks again Amy!
Amy and Marshall have a beautiful home and made us feel very welcome. The neighborhood is really nice and has great food options nearby.
I currently live in Portland, OR and am interesting in exploring as much as possible. Love all things outdoors - running, biking, hiking, skiing and more. I also like to relax, preferably with a good book, a fireplace and a glass of wine.
