Interaction with Guests
I always like to meet those that book with us. It's a great way to show them the house, their access. Even for a brief time before you get settled in I like to make an impression that we do this to meet people and show them Alameda and how great it is.
I love I can walk to the coffee shop around the corner, pick up the national paper, see friendly faces along the way, and it is still so quiet. I take the sidewalk whenever I can, or a bike on our expanded streets with bike lanes. Alameda means streets with trees and they are everywhere, the City has had crews of tree trimmers come this past Summer and cleaned them all up. I think it is truly beautiful.
There are several bus stops within two blocks that will take you to downtown San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and much more. The Bart (Subway) and the Ferry are two other options for you. You are not limited to getting in your car and driving here. A taxi is also available as a pick up from the Airport or Bart.

This was my second time booking this home for my in-laws. They were visiting from Italy to see my wife and I for the holidays. Everything was just right, from the cleanliness, to the copious cooking gear, to the neighborhood, and even the neighbors themselves! I would highly recommend this place, as it's perfect for larger groups that want to stay together.
Chris is an excellent host. He welcomed us showing us around and explaining how things work. It is a lovely house with plenty of space for our party of 4 adults and 2 children. Having equipment like a crib and high chair was particularly useful for the baby, while our 4 year old granddaughter loved the fact there were toys and books to read. The area is really good, close to restaurants and shops, but on a quiet street.
Chris was a great host, even checking in with us after the Napa earthquake which we did feel. The house was charming, updated and had lots of seating in the living room for the 6 of us. It was comfortable and homey. I wish we had more time to check out the town because what we did see was very cute. Thanks for your hospitality Chris.
Wonderful house close to shops and restaurants. My husband and I had driven from Albuquerque for a family reunion and we really appreciated being able to walk to dinner or for coffee. House is child friendly with a gate to use at the base of the one flight of stairs. Chris had flowers on the kitchen counter and wine available. Overall a very good experience.
This house was so cute! They have done such a nice job updating and adding on and still keeping the original charm. The kitchen looked like it was right off HGTV. Everything was spotless and perfectly ready for a house full of guests. The location was really easy to find - near all the cute downtown shops of Alameda. I would definitely recommend this location for a family vacation spot that could easily host a big group. We also loved the enclosed porch on the side with the fireplace. Great hang out room for kids. Chris was super easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had.
Chris was a very likeable person, extremely helpful and willing to assist no matter what. His house is really lovely and located in a very nice quiet part of Alameda. There is plenty of space for any large family and those who may have children there is ample of garden space for them to run around securely. If you don't want to hire a car, there is a good bus service located within a 5 minute walk which will also take you to the local BART station in Fruitvale to catch the train to San Francisco. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting the San Francisco area, who doesn't want to be in the main hustle and bustle of a big city but would like to be close but be a little more rural. I would also recommend this property for not only the location but also the excellent support and friendliness of our host, Chris.
Great house, great location, Chris is a wonderful host. Highly recommend!
