The room is big, nicely decorated, totally renovated, with a big window, a small balcony and... this view!
Good as it gets. In the heart of downtown Lisbon, you’ll have in front of you the huge, blue Tagus river, the ships, the Arrábida mountain in the opposite bank.
There is a double bed, enough room to store all your luggage, and a table by the window, for working, reading or having breakfast.
You’ll have a private bathroom (with a view to the cathedral), and although I'm renting a room, not the whole apartment, where I live, you can use the fully equipped kitchen and the dining room, with cable tv and HiFi music. There is wi-fi internet connection all over the place, including your room, and clean towels, sheets and blankets.
The appartment is large and from the 19th century, but recently and fully renovated.
In a 3 minute walk you can reach Praça do Comércio (the main square in Lisbon), Rua Augusta (the main street) Alfama (the Fado district), or Sé Catedral. Chiado, Rossio or Bairro Alto (the bohemian district) are just 7 minutes away on foot.
Around the apartment, there are hundreds of restaurants and cafés. Casa dos Bicos (home to the Literature Nobel Prize José Saramago Foundation) is next door, and Metro station (Terreiro do Paço) is across the street.
Last but not least: ther are thousands of books in the house, and a host (journalist and writer) who knows a couple of stories about the town and the country...
PS- The apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator, not suitable for people with disabilities.
Paulo is a perfect host, knows well where to go, the room is exactly as shown and described with a perfect view! highly recommended.
It was a wonderful stay at Paulos House.
Perfect located, with the best view.
Thanks alot Paulo!
Paolo's place is really central and close to the Metro. The view is also spectacular and the room breezy (a necessity in summer). The room is conveniently located away from the other sleeping quarters of the house and is a quiet retreat. The stairs could be a bit of a killer if you have bad knees but I just used it as an excuse to have more tarts (pastel).
Paulo is a very nice person and a great host. He was very helpful in providing us with great advice on what to visit, where to eat, how to get to different places and what to try to make the most of our stay in Lisbon.
The room is even nicer than it looks in pictures: it is located in the heart of the city, with a great view towards the water and a lovely balcony which is just perfect for having a late breakfast and feeling the great vibe of Lisbon.
When in Lisbon, just jump into a taxi and tell him "Rua dos Bacalhoeiros 14, por favor." But do book your stay in advance with Paulo, for the Room with a view is in high demand.
Paulo is more than a host.He is a very cultivated person, who gaved a lot of information about the location of the apartment,Lisbon and where to go or not to go.You don't even have to ask for information!!!He really take the time to help you out with where to eat or where to go.He and his girlfriend(I'm not good in remembering names) were very helpfull to help me find some nice places with street art, that you never will find without somebody's help. They even took the time to take a little walk and showed me a wall with a Vhils(famous Portugese street artist) artwork. He is definitely the best host I ever had and I hope to return soon.Oh,I forgot to say that the apartment was more than perfect and has a good location and a nice view!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Paulo's for 3 nights. This place was amazing and Paulo was a wonderful host! The photos really do not do the room much justice, as it is quite spacey in real life and the view from the room's balcony is just spectacular. The metro station is just across the road, city square 5 mins walk, and plenty of places to eat authentic Portuguese food on the same street. Paulo was very thoughtful and provided us with an information sheet of nearby attractions and gave us a quick overview of Lisbon. Highly recommend this place and would definitely book again!
Paulo is friendly and gave us a lot of information about Lisboa.
We were happy with the room in a old building. In the room is a very nice view at the river. The house is central in Lisboa, close by everything. In the house is everything you need.
Portugal is great. Lisboa is wonderfull. All the people are friendly!!!!!!!!
