High Tide Cabin on Tomales Bay is a wonderful place. The exterior is very charming and beachy, exactly what you want in a beach house. The interior is very sweet and comfortable, cozy but with plenty of room to spread out. What is most spectacular, though, are the water views from every window! The lazy lapping of the tide and the sea birds doing their every day thing is absolutely delightful and will bring back your childhood sense of wonder. We bought a bag of fresh oysters from Hog Island Oyster Farm and shucked them on the deck. The stars came out and we watched a fishing boat move slowly through the bay. The beds are very comfy. We brought our own kayaks and launched them right out the door on the little private beach. Loved it all! The hosts left chocolate and wine and were available right away when I had a question. We hope to return again soon!
The house was beautiful! Very true to the description. Meg was super helpful and really responsive.
This place was absolutely amazing. Falling asleep to the sound of the tides and waking up to the beautiful views. There was a really bad storm during the weekend we traveled to the cabin. There was no power for about a day and a half. Even with no power this place was perfect. I actually welcomed the lack of cell reception. Everything you need to cook and survive a storm was readily available!
The check in process was super easy and simple. Very clean and setup perfectly for a great weekend. Secluded but within driving distance to tons of cool eateries and trails.
My partners contribution to this review... "Can we live there?"
Alex & Meg thanks for welcoming us!
This is a truly dreamy spot! The wraparound deck is perfection at any time of day - watching the fog burn off in the morning, strumming a banjo in the evening, even dancing in the moonlight! We even saw some seals right off the deck!
The kitchen was a good size and included all key implements for cooking and baking. And the dishwasher made cleanup super easy! There is a picnic table on the deck that is perfect for breakfast.
Arrival/departure logistics worked smoothly with hosts with a coded lock box.
The drive to Point Reyes National Seashore is 45 mins-1 hr and is beautiful at every turn. Stopping at Hog Island Oyster Co is a must!
Note that cell reception is nearly nonexistent at the house so any contact you'll need to do from there would need to be via wifi.
This little cabin is so quaint, sitting right atop the Tomales Bay with a wrap around deck on which to catch some sun rays and watch the birds dive for fish. Everything was very comfortable and we look forward to returning someday!
The cabin was perfect and just as we expected from the description and all the reviews. We stayed during a rare cold snap but stayed cozy and warm around the fireplace. Meg was super fast to reply and always very helpful! I'd definitely recommend the cabin to others.
As a side note, if you bring a dog you should know that a lot of the trails around Point Reyes are not dog friendly. This website (website hidden) has more info about where you can walk your pup! :)
This is a truly lovely space to spend some time and relax! We spent New Year's Eve at the cabin, enjoying the fire, the tides, and the overall atmosphere of serenity.
