How about lying in the hot pot, looking up to the sky and see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) dancing over the sky? You can do exactly that from autumn until beginning of May. Then, in spring, summer and autumn, you can also see the sunset.

The space
The house is located approximately 10 km (about 6-7 minutes drive) from the Akureyri often called the ‘capital of the north’ in Iceland. The town offers interesting shops, galleries, restaurants and museums.

In the summertime the Midnight Sun is an extraordinary spectacle in these northern latitudes: around the summer solstice, the sun sinks down to touch the horizon before rising again in breathtaking tones of red and gold. Take a day trip to the island Grimsey, enjoy the bird-life and get certificate of being to the Arctic Circle.

Want to see the Northern Lights? We offer a beautiful an spacious vacation home situated only 10 km from Akureyri. An excellent view is from the house, and it’s a perfect location for admiring the Northern Lights.

During the wintertime winter brings its own tapestry of snow and sparkling frosts, if you which you can go skiing in Hlidarfjall and get frequent opportunities to enjoy the unforgettable splendour of the Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis.
