This charming and peaceful maritime-themed garden studio in Sausalito has it all: privacy, amenities and a convenient northern Sausalito location. Easy street parking and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and waterfront. Enjoy a comfortable queen-sized bed, flat screen television, full kitchen and private bathroom.
Situated in a quiet Sausalito neighborhood that is still extremely walkable, the garden studio is perfect for those who would like a relaxing stay during their time in the Bay Area. Located at the back of our main house, the garden studio has its own private entrance and is charmingly appointed. Please note: while we have guests in the main house no pets (including our own) are allowed in the garden studio out of consideration for our guests with allergies.
With a queen size bed and sofa, the garden studio can fit three people, or up to four if two are smaller children. Guests should bear in mind that it is a studio set up with an open floor plan. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or special requests. Single air mattress, toddler size air mattress and Pack N Play crib available upon request.
Sausalito is a charming town, with great restaurants, local character and is conveniently close to the city of San Francisco. It's a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of exploring SF. It's also close to other Bay Area attractions and activities like Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Marin Headlands, Point Reyes and Sonoma and Napa wine country.
Interaction with Guests
We value our guests' privacy but are happy to help you with recommendations and trip planning throughout your stay. We live in the main house and are usually on location, but are very mindful about making any noise in the space above the studio.
For those who like to be outdoors and active, the options are limitless. There are plenty of nearby hikes, easy access to Marin bike paths, free tennis courts within one block of the studio (as well as basketball courts, a soccer field and small track) and nearby kayak and paddle board rentals.
It's very easy to get around in Sausalito! Beyond being very walkable, public transportation is inexpensive and easy, with bus stops conveniently located close to the property. Our favorite way to get into the city is via the Sausalito ferry, which drops you right off at the legendary Ferry Building.

This was a really great place to stay in Sausalito. Everything from the communication beforehand to the space itself were perfect. Tanya has impeccable taste and the space was everything we could hope for from the beautiful wood floors, comfortable bed, coffee and cream provided, and a quiet stay in a beautiful neighborhood. Tanya thinks of everything you might need, and it is all there!
Tanya was amazing at welcoming us and answered all our questions we had. We even showed up late and she drew us a map so we knew how to walk to the apartment. Thank you so much for everything!
Tanya's Garden Studio was exactly as described--charming, peaceful, and private. It was very clean, and had everything we could want for a quick weekend trip. The studio was the perfect place to relax and enjoy all that Sausalito has to offer. We took her advice on a few restaurants and each was spot on. It was a privilege to stay at Tanya's studio and we would definitely stay again.
we came late in a rainy day, the host met us outside and took us in, quiet sweet neighbourhood, very sweet studio, comfortable, has anything you need, we had fun, we felt comfortable and well taken care. thanks.
We loved staying at Tanya's guest suite in Sausalito. Great location, close to everything. Recommended!
Great little space tucked into the back garden of Tanya's long narrow property - no street noise that far back, just a view of trees and green plantings from a nicely renovated interior. All the comforts of home with a great stone-countered kitchenette, reclaimed wood-lined bathroom and nice light paint on the walls.
Tanya was a very wonderful hostess who gave great advice on how to arrive after dark, provided breakfast options and drinks and the room was well kept and clean. It was quiet, well located and cozy. She was also a great communicator.
