This charming and peaceful maritime-themed garden studio in Sausalito has it all: privacy, amenities and a convenient northern Sausalito location. Easy street parking and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and waterfront. Enjoy a comfortable queen-sized bed, flat screen television, full kitchen and private bathroom.
Situated in a quiet Sausalito neighborhood that is still extremely walkable, the garden studio is perfect for those who would like a relaxing stay during their time in the Bay Area. Located at the back of our main house, the garden studio has its own private entrance and is charmingly appointed. Please note: while we have guests in the main house no pets (including our own) are allowed in the garden studio out of consideration for our guests with allergies.
With a queen size bed and sofa, the garden studio can fit three people, or up to four if two are smaller children. Guests should bear in mind that it is a studio set up with an open floor plan. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or special requests. Single air mattress, toddler size air mattress and Pack N Play crib available upon request.
Sausalito is a charming town, with great restaurants, local character and is conveniently close to the city of San Francisco. It's a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of exploring SF. It's also close to other Bay Area attractions and activities like Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Marin Headlands, Point Reyes and Sonoma and Napa wine country.
We value our guests' privacy but are happy to help you with recommendations and trip planning throughout your stay. We live in the main house and are usually on location, but are very mindful about making any noise in the space above the studio.
For those who like to be outdoors and active, the options are limitless. There are plenty of nearby hikes, easy access to Marin bike paths, free tennis courts within one block of the studio (as well as basketball courts, a soccer field and small track) and nearby kayak and paddle board rentals.
It's very easy to get around in Sausalito! Beyond being very walkable, public transportation is inexpensive and easy, with bus stops conveniently located close to the property. Our favorite way to get into the city is via the Sausalito ferry, which drops you right off at the legendary Ferry Building.
The garden suite is approximately 350 square feet, plus an outdoor mini-patio area.

This was my very first experience with airbnb. I loved this place, Tanya and her family were great. It was truly like a home away from home. I'm done with hotels. This is the new black. I highly recommend this location if you are in the north bay area.
We had a great stay in Sausalito thanks to Tanya's hospitality and recommendations. The studio was lovely--very quiet, clean, and comfortable--and conveniently located near local hotspots (Tanya made great recommendations for food!) without being too close to the more touristy downtown area. We've already talked about coming back for future "staycations" away from the city!
We had a great time here. The hosts were super-nice and helpful. Quiet location with only a 15 minute walk to the main Sausalito strip. The studio itself is tucked away in the back, so for being a garden studio there really isn't that much of a garden.
Tanya was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The studio was clean, cozy and felt totally private. Though it is in a populated neighborhood, the studio is set far back from the road so there was no problem with noise. The shower was luxurious and spacious and the kitchen was generously supplied with coffee and snacks. The location was easy in terms of easy access to major routes as well as to downtown. This was a lovely, little oasis for myself and my husband for a few days. We highly recommend it.
Absolutely loved our weekend away at Tanya's garden studio. She and her husband made the check in process extremely easy, the proximity of the studio to some great restaurants was off the charts, and most importantly it provided some well needed peace and quiet. Would absolutely make it back over there sometime soon.
It was a fantastic place to get stuck in while it rains ALL WEEKEND LONG. Cute, small, private, and Tanya was super helpful when I found out I had a huge water leak in my car. Hopefully, we will plan another weekend, when it's sunny.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This studio is perfect for an intimate retreat with a partner or close friend. The decor is lovely, as you can see in the pictures, and there is a nice kitchen. We explored restaurants in Sausalito, but if I come again (and we'd like to!) I'd probably plan to cook. Tanya has thought of nice extra touches--there's a laptop for your use and a tray with snacks, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and a french press. There's also a binder full of restaurant recommendations, and we liked everything we tried!
The whole weekend felt very private and secluded considering the studio is attached to the back of a house. If you're looking for a totally secluded retreat this isn't the place though, for that very reason. I could hear the family a few times, although it was by no means loud and I definitely wouldn't say it was an issue.
The neighborhood is nice and is very close to a Mollie Stone and Yummy Indian fusion restaurant (Avatar's) and only 20-30 minutes walk from many shops and restaurants in Sausalito. We had an extremely relaxing stay!
Tanya and her husband could not have been nicer and more accommodating. The studio was perfect for my stay. Cozy, comfortable, with a lovely design sensibility. Loved it and am considering a longer stay for future business trips.
The studio is a lovely retreat nestled in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The space is clean and new feeling-almost like a boutique hotel! While it is walking distance to some great restaurants I would definitely recommend a car for getting around.
Tanya was a fantastic host-provided a list of top restaurants and hiking trails and was generally available as needed.
