Rick was a very pleasant man to interact with. He has a very well kept studio which lives up to it's name - "Hideaway", it is amidst his jungle themed backyard which is very beautiful. He was very accommodative and responsive, we were very late when we arrived but he had everything setup and communicated all the details through email. This place is very conveniently located and is at a short driving distance to many vineyards, restaurants, russian river etc. He has loaded this home with all necessary amenities, Kitchen has all necessary equipments, nice hot tub etc. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Rick.
We enjoyed our stay at Rick's backyard cottage -- the only sounds were quiet clucking of hens next door -- in a quiet Santa Rosa neighborhood. Amid a garden with cute huts, the studio is a soothing and relaxing spot. Rick is a friendly and attentive but not intrusive host. We loved the fresh eggs for breakfast!
Rick was a lovely host! He showed us around his gorgeous yard and gave us easy suggestions for a day in Healdsburg - which was perfect! After that we were on our own and enjoyed a quiet, secluded stay. We loved the eggs, the clucking hens, the breakfast items left in the fridge, the cable tv...everything about the Hideaway was just as advertised - and better :)
First time using AirBnB. Rick was great. Gave us keys and tour and left us to our privacy. The studio was just as described, plus a few goodies in the frig. Bed was incredibly comfortable.
The property was amazing - felt like Hawaii in miniature, palm trees, bamboo, full size tiki huts, fire pit, paths through jungle-like flaura, areas in the "forest" to sit and relax. There was also a sunny private little patio just outside the studio with chairs & table.
The neighborhood was quite safe, felt like the country, but close to shops, etc.
Would stay again!!
The stay at Rick's hideaway was great. We arrived to fresh coffee, wine, eggs and a detailed guide to the Santa Rosa area in a well laid out spread on the kitchen table. The room was a great temperature for sleeping and adjustable with a ceiling fan, and the grounds that Rick lives on are quite cool.
Rick himself was quite friendly and if any guests are afraid that living adjacent to him was infringing on their vacation, fear not, unless we went to speak to Rick directly we had next to no noise at all.
The place is as pictured, the location is a short bike or ride to downtown Santa Rosa and provides an excellent location to relax, unwind and enjoy a more hidden part of the Wine Country.
We had a lovely stay at the Hideaway! It was the perfect home-base for exploring the Sonoma County vineyards. When we first arrived, Rick showed us around the different huts - it is incredible to see all the work and love he has put into his property. We felt welcomed and well cared for (fresh eggs and all!), but Rick also gave us the privacy we were hoping for. A great getaway - we hope to return!
About the Host, Rick
I have been working on improving the grounds over the past 20 years that I have lived here. I am a grocery manager, personal trainer and have my own landscaping company. My goal is for you to visit and feel you are in a tropical paradise. Aside from the weather, I think I can come pretty close!
