We had a lovely stay at Som's house. We arrived rather late, which wasn't a problem at all and his cosy room was a wonderful surprise -- it looks just like the pictures and everything was spotlessly clean! Som's house is a 20 minute walk from the capitol on a quiet residential street. We'd be most happy to come back.
Som is the ultimate host! His home is incredibly tasteful, beautiful and cozy. The room is very private, the ensuite bathroom is a great feature. The shower is roomier than it looks! The bed was incredibly comfortable. I even checked for the brand of the pillows so I could get a set of my own! We basically had the place to ourselves as Som was out a lot and his dog was super quiet. I've been recommending his place to all of my friends! It was like a homey boutique hotel or bed and breakfast.
The information was perfect and Som was a very thoughtful host. He had all of the little details that I wouldn't have even thought of. Our stay was great and found it very easy to walk to down town and access both of Madison's lakes. I would definitely stay again and recommend Som to anyone else planning to visit Madison.
The information was perfect. Som is a perfect host; everything is well prepared.
Our stay was great! It was really easy to check in and out, street parking was easy, the bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the location was great - about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. We never met Som in person, but he was very communicative and friendly via text! I would definitely recommend this place.
Som is a really nice person. His place is as you see it in the photos and is spotlessly clean. The kitchen had everything you would want. He was very obliging and printed out our check in airport tickets and Van Gelder bus tickets. Thanks Som.
Its a good 25 minutes walk to Downtown Madison. The farmers market at the Capitol on Saturdays is a must. The Hungry Traveller on Willy St (Williamson St), Few St is terrific.
Overall we had a great stay in a wonderful city.
Som's place was perfect! The description is very accurate and Som was great before, during, and after our stay. The location was perfect - very easy access to downtown Madison and Willy Street. I would definitely stay again!

About the Host, Som
I've lived in Madison for over 10 years now and absolutely love it. Madison is the only city in the world built on an ishtmus (the strip of land between two lakes), and I'm fortunate enough to live on that isthmus.
By profession I am a project manager. I've spent the last 8 years helping to design and implement IT systems projects for insurance companies around Madison. I recently received my MBA from the UW-Madison.
In my personal time I train for Ironman and other triahtlons, explore Madison's amazing restaurant scene, and volunteer with my local Rotary club.
My dog Shelby has been my companion for over 10 years now. She was a handful as a puppy, but has grown into a gentle and calm old girl. I walk several miles a day with her rain or shine, and I love that she keeps me active.
