Description

The space

You'd be renting the whole property, nearest neighbour is 1 km away.
The house is reached driving on a private road bordered with secular trees, one of them certified 500 years old.

A 18 mt infinity pool overlooking the valley gives for amazing sunsets also features hidrojets for a massage with a glass of italian wine.

We thought about your children and we have built a "pirate ship" game park for them, on top of a kid's pool attached to the adult one.

The property includes a 30 hectares wood that covers half of the hill which makes for great walks and mountain bike rides in the nature; you will find water creeks, wild plants and a medieval tower that lays on top of the hill.

We own a farming ground where our centuries old olive trees gift us every year with a superb extra virgin olive oil (you will always find some in the kitchen).

Our estate is an historical one. Garibaldi the national hero that unified Italy in the 19th Century slept on our estate in the summer 1849 along with his wife.
They were on the run along with a small army of volunteer soldiers after the ruinous ending of the “Repubblica Romana” a shortly lived experience of democratic republic values, based on universal right of vote for all men and women, freedom of religion, abolition of death penalty and transformation of the papal power in a pure spiritual one.
Sadly they were too ahead of time....
The republic was overthrown 5 months after its establishment by french troops sent by Napoleon III restablishing the temporal power of Pope Pius IX. Garibaldi and his pregnant wife (brasilian of birth and an amazon in character) fled Rome and headed to the free republic of Venice and where given shelter on our estate by Antonio Valente. The naval army of Napoleon III stopped them before they could get in Venice and Anita Garibaldi and the child she carried died few days later of an unknown fever.

Guest access

The property will have no other guests.

There is an outdoor area with table for "al fresco" eating and a barbecue.
It includes hammocks and a table football (fussball).

There is also a oven for bread and pizza.

Two adult bycicles, one teenager bike, two children bikes and 4 sunbeds.

Interaction with guests

I have collected a large amount of informations on activities for that range from adventurous to foodies to archeological, so you can plan your trip ahead.
You will be received by a person who speaks english, spanish and italian. He will introduce you to the house and the area. Providing informations on local markets, village fairs and outdoor activities.

The neighborhood

Todi is a charming well-preserved medieval town sitting on top of hill overlooking green valleys in Umbria, the epitome of slow travel has been named most liveable town in the world.
The region of Umbria is a yet undiscovered gem of Italy made of great food and wines, medieval villages, rolling green hills, waterfalls, pristine lakes and all kind of outdoor activities.
Our property is in the most exclusive hill of the area, with views of the valley and just 10 min drive away from the town itself.

Todi is really just 10 min drive (international 10 minutes...not italian! :) and there you have supermarkets, pharmacies, ATM...etc.

Umbria and Tuscany are famous for their mild climate, delicious food and some of the best wines and olive oils of Italy.

Drive on a cypress lined road through a spellbinding landscape over rolling hills covered in vineyards, olive groves and dotted with romantic medieval hill towns, gothic and renaissance villages.

Dine in the best restaurant of Italy (Michelin 2014) Vissani 20 min drive away to mention one.

Look for the italian family run restaurant where the italian mama will serve you home made filled pasta and wild mushrooms.

You will need a car to get around.
You will be provided with a map and directions once you receive the keys.

We had a lovely stay at Palazzacio Todi Estate. We couldn't have asked for more. The Host Fabs was brilliant and provided us with so much useful information before we arrived which we found very useful including local facilities, restaurants and activities. The property itself is stunning surrounded by incredible scenery and nature. It is so peaceful and secluded. We were able to go for runs, walks and bike rides in the estates woodland in total peace apart from the odd wild boar! Perfect place for a romantic getaway or family holiday!

The place is stunning, you're very own peace of Italy. Close by to several beautiful sights and towns and still far away from any noise or crowds. You can spend your evenings listening to sounds of nature from around you and enjoy fantastic views. The house is very spacious and equipped with everything you might need. And Fabio is very quick to respond and has great suggestions for things to do and events in the area. This place is everything you might wish for and then some.

WOW! What an amazing stay at Fabs place. He was so welcoming via email, sent lots of info prior to our arrival. Riccardo met us and was wonderful. The house is fantastic, we didn't want to leave. Pool is one of the nicest I have seen with an incredible view. We cooked on the outdoor fireplace, had a cooking lesson at the house, loved our time in Todi. I would highly recommend going to Doglio for a cup of coffee, wonderful man who runs the bar/store there. Thank you Fabs for an AMAZING trip!

Fabio was amazing in providing information about the area, what to do, where to go, where to eat etc. His guest information book is second to none. Ricardo greeted us and was on hand for anything we needed. Ricardo was charming, helpful and friendly. The house is ideally located near Todi and not too far from amenities. It is a very pleasant house with large rooms and lots of light. An ideal house for a family or small group of friends.

Fabio is a wonderful host, we have appreciated his exceptional care and attention in all aspects. The comprehensive information- folder is supernice, moreover the place itself is unforgettable and definitely invites for coming back! The way how Fabio has been adapting the villa is unique- there is so much love, devotion and care concerning space, furniture and detail - we just love it. AND: it is hard to top the site as a genius loci with its amazing panorama-pool! Congrats Fabio, we will be back!!!

We had another amazing week at Palazzaccio Todi - our second visit. It's an amazing house with a beautiful pool and in a wonderfully secluded spot. Fabio always takes care to make sure you have everything you need for arrival and we were warmly welcomed by Riccardo who showed us around when we arrived. Very much hoping to return again in the future.

It's hard to know where to begin. The photos don't do justice to this awesome (in the true sense of the word) space. Everything was as represented -- and better. Ricardo met us (complete with a nice welcome gift), and Fabs was available by text as necessary throughout our stay. There are so many different ways to enjoy Palazzaccio Todi -- different spaces on the property can drive many different experiences. The hike up to the tower was well worth the effort -- we brought a picnic and enjoyed the view down to the house and pool below. The pool allows for a clean view of the valley below and over to Todi. We had a fire almost every night in the kitchen -- it could have been 1616 or 1816 or 2016. The drive into Todi is short and easy -- both to enjoy the beauty of the village but also to pick up provisions at the Emi. We would not hesitate to stay here again; it is a fabulous property.
