Nestled in the hills opposite Todi lies our centuries old property refurbished 2014.
Comprised of a 3 bedrooms stone house with fireplace, 18 mt infinity pool, kids' playground and surrounded by 40 hectares of private oak wood and an olive groove.
You'd be renting the whole property, nearest neighbour is 1 km away.
The house is reached driving on a private road bordered with secular trees, one of them certified 500 years old.
A 18 mt infinity pool overlooking the valley gives for amazing sunsets also features hidrojets for a massage with a glass of italian wine.
We thought about your children and we have built a "pirate ship" game park for them, on top of a kid's pool attached to the adult one.
The property includes a 30 hectares wood that covers half of the hill which makes for great walks and mountain bike rides in the nature; you will find water creeks, wild plants and a medieval tower that lays on top of the hill.
We own a farming ground where our centuries old olive trees gift us every year with a superb extra virgin olive oil (you will always find some in the kitchen).
Our estate is an historical one. Garibaldi the national hero that unified Italy in the 19th Century slept on our estate in the summer 1849 along with his wife.
They were on the run along with a small army of volunteer soldiers after the ruinous ending of the “Repubblica Romana” a shortly lived experience of democratic republic values, based on universal right of vote for all men and women, freedom of religion, abolition of death penalty and transformation of the papal power in a pure spiritual one.
Sadly they were too ahead of time....
The republic was overthrown 5 months after its establishment by french troops sent by Napoleon III restablishing the temporal power of Pope Pius IX. Garibaldi and his pregnant wife (brasilian of birth and an amazon in character) fled Rome and headed to the free republic of Venice and where given shelter on our estate by Antonio Valente. The naval army of Napoleon III stopped them before they could get in Venice and Anita Garibaldi and the child she carried died few days later of an unknown fever.
The property will have no other guests.
There is an outdoor area with table for "al fresco" eating and a barbecue.
It includes 4 hammocks and a table football (fussball).
There is also a oven for bread and pizza.
Two adult bycicles, one teenager bike, two children bikes and 4 sunbeds.
Interaction with Guests
You will be received by a person who speaks some english and italian. She will introduce you to the house and the area. Providing informations on local markets, village fairs and outdoor activities.

Great house and an amazing place. The house is 10min from Todi, but it's surrounded by the beautiful hills of Umbria.
Supermarkets are very close (10min by car).
The house is full equipped and there's an amazing fireplace in the kitchen.
We stayed there a few days in the winter, but the house is even more spectacular in the summer, where you can enjoy the swimming pool with a fantastic view.
We had a few problems with the new heating system of the house, but the host was ready to try to fix it and support us.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Fabio's Italian countryside home. Fabio was an excellent host from the moment we booked. He sent us a welcoming email with everything imaginable in it to make our stay as enjoyable and relaxing as we wanted it. He made us feel like dear friends visiting a home away from home. I never felt so excited to visit a home before without even seeing it in person. The home was as described on airbnb; light, bright, very, spacious and very well decorated to join together old and new. The property was breathtaking even in the rain and fog. We visited with 2 adults and 3 boys in the winter season and still was able to enjoy the surrounding towns and areas per Fabio's recommendations. We especially enjoyed the town and castle of Todi, 10 mins from the house. But our favorite memory will be just sitting by the warm fire inside the home enjoying the warmth and cozy feeling of Fabio's home. I can just imagine how fabulous this place would be in the summertime as well to really enjoy the outdoors! Overall a wonderful stay, and we would highly recommend this home if you are looking to stay in the private Italian countryside with an amazing host! Thank you again Fabio for your hospitality and kindness, a true Italian gentleman!
This was a great solitary place for our family to escape the business of life. We enjoyed exploring the trails on the property by foot and bike, relaxing in the hammocks, sitting around the open fire place, and watching movies. There are also near by old cities like Todi and Narni worth your time to explore, and we even did a day in Rome which is less than two hours away.
We were warmly welcomed by Laura who showed us around the house and answered all our questions. And during the week if we needed anything, Laura and Fabio were available and helpful.
We definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet home in the hills with plenty of places near by for fun day trips.
Fantastic host - super responsive and helpful throughout.
The house location is stunning. Great space and views.
Inside, the house is set up with everything you need for an excellent experience including strong wi-fi :)
I'm looking forward to returning during warmer weather next year to enjoy the beautiful pool!
Fabio's "Palazzaccio Todi" was a great way to experience beautiful Umbria. We had no difficulty finding the home by using the coordinates in our GPS navigation. Without one you are better meeting Laura in a nearby town. The home was lovely. Everything is provided and the unique decor is as described. The beds are comfortable. You do need a car to get there but you need one in Umbria to see the sights anyway. The location is perfect as the towns of Todi, Orivieto, Spoleto, Spello, Assisi and Perugia are close. The drive down to the main road is magical with Todi dominating the skyline. Fabio is a wonderful host. He provides superb information on the area including his beloved property. He responds quickly to any questions you have. Laura met us at the property and it is obvious she loves the area. She gave us a warm welcome and showed us the home and property. We were made to feel extremely welcome in a home that is obviously a loved part of Fabio's family history. Fabio deserves his superhost rating.
Fabio was an amazingly friendly and attentive host and his Tuscan villa is so beautiful and scenic. The pool is out of a magazine as is the interior of the house. Todi is really nearby and a great village to explore and eat in.
We had a good time at palazzaccio Todi. The house was exactly as shown on the pictures and according to the feedback from the other guests.
A really quiet place, were you can relax optimal. The house had everything you need and more. Especially the fireplace makes it really romantic.
Wifi worked excellent and very steady. The audio was of high quality.
Fabio was very hospitable and available for help, even on his own holiday. We were surprised that there was a dog around the house (with no owner). Although we would have appreciated it, if Fabio had announced the dog before we arrived, he did his best to find the best solution for the sweet dog (by searching for the original or a new family).
We stayed for 2 weeks. Laura came to change the bedlinen after one week, which was very nice.
The pool was very nice, a real luxury and with an amazing view.
We had a welcome arrival and friendly farewell by Laura.
