Other Things to Note
Renew, restore, spend time unwinding.
Since we have a dog (& chickens) bringing your pet is negotiable.
Nina and Richard were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived at their house. Upon arrival they were happy to spend some time getting to know about us and showed a good deal of interest in ourselves.
They provided us with some very useful information for our tours and this was much appreciated too. A fully stocked fridge was also available for our convenience. Free wifi was an added bonus too.
Our whole experience was one which we would not hesitate to repeat. If all bnb hosts were as friendly and accommodating as Nina and Richard then nobody could ever go wrong.
A word on the guest room too....A very large and private area where you are left completely to yourself. Nina and Richard have found the perfect balance of welcome and privacy as it is exactly what most guests would be looking for.
I could be a little more detailed in my review but this deserves to leave a few pleasant surprises for you although you may be unfortunate enough to find these on other very positive reviews.
If you intend to visit this area - be sure to check out this place first. You will not be disappointed.
We had a great stay at Nina and Richard's over the holiday weekend. Upon arriving, we were welcomed with fresh lemonade from their yard along with cheese and crackers. They helped us plan our weekend and even made dinner reservations for that night. We woke up to delicious breakfast both mornings from our gracious hosts.
The room itself was big and bright and everything was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the space and getting to chat with Nina and Richard. I will recommend this studio to anyone visiting the River or wine country!
Nina and Richard were nothing short of spectacular. They served us wine and cheese upon our arrival, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. They were warm, welcoming and knowledgable about the different activities and restaurants in the area.
Also, their home was just beautiful. Clean, beautifully decorated, and with a fantastic yard! Nina gave us a tour of her garden as well.
We highly recommend Nina & Richard for your vacation. The description was accurate, but Nina and Richard truly made our stay something special.
My husband and I had a wonderful and rejuvenating weekend at Nina and Richard's. The room is large, sunny and private. The bed was very comfortable. The raised window seat for reading or just relaxing is a bonus. We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful back yard sipping wine and tea. Nina and Richard cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning. I was almost overwhelmed by their hospitality, but in a very good way. We had some very interesting conversations with Nina and Richard. We found a really good restaurant for dinner, which was even dog friendly. There is a bakery in town, which bakes the most delicious bread right there in front of your eyes. We will definitely be back for another weekend away.
We absolutely loved our stay at Richard and Nina's. The garden, house, and private room are perfect for a weekend away. The garden is colorful and lovely, with plenty of places to relax in the sunlight. The house is walking distance to the quaint town of Forestville, which has a farm to table restaurant (Backyard), a convenience store with a very knowledgeable wine aficionado (Fred) who can recommend great Russian River Valley wines, and plenty of coffee shops. The room is comfortable, clean, airy, and has the cutest reading nook that is surrounded by windows. On top of all that, Richard and Nina are the best hosts. They greet you with a glass of wine, say good morning with a cappuccino or espresso, and offer interesting and charming conversation when you run into them in the middle of the day. They live in an oasis and the fact that they are willing to share a little piece of their life with strangers is such a treat. I would recommend staying here again and again and again to anyone who will listen. We will hopefully be back soon!
This bed and breakfast was great. The large number of eclectic books in the room, the private entrance, the view up in the trees, the fresh flowers, the gardens, the chickens, the peace & quiet; all amazing. Nina was very welcoming and presented great hospitality, when we met Richard, he offered the same exact warm treatment.
My wife and I were delighted and plan to visit again when we are in Sonoma wine country.
Thank you for the unexpected added touches.
Although I was only at the house at night and have only spoke with Richard once and Nina twice, they were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They did not hesitate to answer all of my questions and requests, and overall went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The room and the house were very charming and makes one feel right at home. Additionally, the location was both quiet and convenient, and I did not feel disturbed at all during any night of my stay. I highly recommend that others seriously consider this place, as you're not likely able to find another place in Sonoma county that is this comfortable for the price they're asking.
About the Host, Nina
We've been married for years- with three grown children, a dog, cat and chickens. My husband and I both love to garden, cook and have an eclectic library. We have traveled extensively and go hiking all over, especially in Sonoma County which we love well. We enjoy cycling, are near an outstanding bike path and we are also located close to some of the most wonderful wineries around. We're both comfortable with lots of people/children/gay or straight. And
like you, we cherish our privacy too.
