It would be hard to overstate how much we enjoyed our stay here. The house itself is beautiful - set back from the road among fruit and shade trees, rows and rows of succulents and cacti in the back, a well-kept yard, pretty chickens, lovely art everywhere. The room itself is cool and airy, with a wide window seat big enough for two people to sit in together to read by the corner windows. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and pretty (with good reading material too). And yes, if you're a reader, the shelves in the room will do you just fine - there's a master's degree or two worth of excellent literature in the shelves in the space. Breakfast was wonderful too. Nina was kind and flexible about timing, and she made us a delicious scramble that used eggs laid by the resident hens. Everything was well thought out, and she was a pleasure to talk to too. She clearly loves the area and would like to help you get the most out of it too. It can be hard to snag a place to stay in the high season up in Sonoma and Russian River, and you'll be lucky if you get to stay here. The location is also great - pleasantly secluded but within walking distance of restaurants and shops in Forestville, as well as being easy driving distance to Steelhead Beach, Stumptown Brewery, and other great stops in the area.

Very roomy, impeccably clean, quiet, private. Forestville has very little traffic compared to surrounding communities on a weekend. Hosts are very nice and welcoming. They had to leave early next morning and entrusted the guest house to us.

Loved staying here- the hospitality and kindness of Nina and Richard made the stay feel like home away from home! Their backyard is a beautiful oasis and is so nice to sit and look at from the reading nook in the room. Room is large and spacious, with a lovely view of the backyard and trees! Very relaxing stay. Quick 15 min drive to guernville. Also easy to walk to restaurants/cafes in forestville. I would absolutely recommend!

Nina and Richard are fabulous, down-home, warm-hearted, and fun hosts. Their house and garden are beautiful, comfortable, and inviting, and they know the area, so have great suggestions for places to eat, places to go, and how to get there. We had an absolutely great time, and look forward to staying with them again.

Nina and Richard are wonderful! The room is so comfortable and has its own entrance, and the house and yard are beautiful. We had a delicious snack and breakfast with our hosts. Forestville is within walking distance; we went down to the walking/biking trail near the park. We will certainly recommend this AirBnB to family and friends looking for a change of pace from the Bay Area. Thank you, Nina and Richard!!

Nice hosts, offered us a welcome drink and coffee in the morning. Unfortunately the bed sheets were stained, which shouldn't be the case in this higher priced airbnb. TV was not working. Otherwise, great views of the garden, quiet, big room, and drinks for free in the refrigerator.

Response from Nina:
Wow! We're surprised! We just checked the TV and found it works fine. We launder & sterilize linens after each guest, but staying at a private home in the country vs. a hotel, means we don't have a professional laundry service. We do pay a weekly house cleaner. Thank you for your feedback!

Nina and Rich really have taken to heart the "BnB" of AirBnB. Cappuccinos, crepes, fresh berries, and homemade syrup awaited us at breakfast accompanied by delightful conversation and a tour of their beautiful garden. The bedroom was both cozy and spacious and we, like many others, wished we'd spent another night. A private entrance, stocked mini fridge, and warm communication were other notable highlights. Many thanks to our hosts who went above and beyond. We'll be back!

Come visit our private space! It overlooks the spacious garden where you can relax and unwind. We've been married for years- with three grown children, a dog and a flock of hens. My husband and I both love to garden, cook and have an eclectic library for you to share. We have traveled extensively and go hiking all over, especially in Sonoma County which we love well. We enjoy cycling, are near an outstanding bike path and we are also located close to some of the most wonderful wineries around. We're both comfortable with lots of people/children/gay or straight. And like you, we cherish our privacy too.
