Interaction with Guests
We welcome you and see if there is anything you need. In the room is a list of local restaurants, wineries, etc. In addition, Richard is a licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Chinese medicine, should you need an appointment.
Quiet, quiet, quiet. Stars! Winter chill in the air makes you appreciate the warm, cozy nook where you can nestle for hours. This time of year is crisp and stunning!
A car is most convenient. Parking is directly in front of the house. Walking and cycling to nearby places - a piece of cake.
Other Things to Note
Renew, restore, spend time unwinding.
Since we have a dog (& chickens) bringing your pet is negotiable.
Although we were sad to miss Nina, Richard took wonderful care of us (getting us checked in early, giving us a tour of their beautiful backyard, and feeding us wine, cheese, and breakfast.) This cozy studio was just what we needed for a mini-vacation. The reading nook and big windows were especially appreciated. We enjoyed being able to walk downtown.
Nina and Richard were warm and welcoming upon our arrival, sharing a glass of wine with us. Their home was comfortable , and just as described. I highly recommend it!
My roommate from college and I met up in Sonoma for a weekend and had the best time. Gorgeous view, lovely yard and perfect oasis. Nina and Richard were so (website hidden) breakfast and making us cappuccinos really was above and beyond. They gave us excellent directions for dinner as well as places to check out locally. Hope to return one day soon!
Staying at Nina and Richard’s property is like staying with old friends – the ones that know when you want to be entertained and when you want to just relax alone. As others have said, the accommodation is a clean and private getaway, decorated with a well-traveled zen décor replete with hundreds of books that make you want to curl up with your wine or cappuccino in the sun and pour through a few chapters in one of the many nooks or spots in the garden. We arrived for check-in after a great day of hiking (in nearby Shiloh Ranch Regional Park) to an open bottle of wine and snacks on the deck overlooking their lovely property in full spring bloom. After trading get-to-know-you stories of our lives and travels with our hosts, we walked a few blocks to a dinner reservation at Backyard (delicious!) and retired early in our cozy retreat. The next morning brought a delicious breakfast on the deck and more relaxing before harvesting some of Nina’s lemons and heading back to San Francisco via some quaint wine country antique stores. Other AirBnB places we’ve stayed have been great, but very corporate compared to Nina and Richard’s “bed & breakfast” experience. We’ll be back!
It was a nice neighborhood with the home and property set far back from the country lane it's on. It's a romantic country home with a separate and large and very private studio.
Staying at Nina and Richard's was a very relaxing experience. They were very warm and welcoming, and the accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The capper was the delivery of espresso and fresh baked scones in the morning. Yum!! Thanks for the great weekend!
We had a wonderful stay with Nina and her husband. The house was easy to find and close to our last winery stop. After a day spent vineyard hopping in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, we were welcomed with tea and warm bread, and a chat around the fireplace. Our room was private (separate entrance) and comfortable. We were served a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and cereal. Nina offered great recommendations for dinner in Forestville. Overall a fantastic stay! We highly recommend staying with Nina for a quiet getaway easily accessible from San Francisco.
We've been married for years- with three grown children, a dog, cat and chickens. My husband and I both love to garden, cook and have a great library. We have traveled extensively and go hiking all over, especially in Sonoma County which we love well. We have bikes, are near an outstanding bike path and we are also located close to some of the most wonderful wineries around. We're both comfortable with lots of people/children/gay or straight. And
like you, we cherish our privacy too.
