We booked the apartment, but on our arrival we got a free upgrade to a 3 room townhouse. In the kitchen we had breakfast and found all the necessary equipment to cook our dinner. The cosy bedrooms have all got its own sink with mirror and are each nicely decorated in its own color. Although the street in front of the house was rather busy during daytime, we had no problems to sleep in the nights. We could park the car directly in front of the house. Tony was a very friendly and genorous host, who provided us with all the information we needed and was ready to organize everything, which we asked for.
Tony's hosting was great beyond expectations! As reaching Belturbet from Belfast wasn't straightforward Tony insisted on picking me up in Enniskillen, drove me to house number 3 (I was upgrated there for the same price of the apartment) where I found a fridge containing 4 welcoming bottles of cider. "It's for me", Tony uttered. His generosity didn't stop there. I had to meet a group of people in Sligo in the middle of the week. He took me there as well, for he had business in the surrounding areas. Tony seems to be knowing everyone in town and can tell much about its history. Belturbet may not be lush looking like the west of the island or the south, but it is interesting nonetheless. Great fishing. Great people. Great little pubs (which i know very well by now, try o'reilly's when the 84 year old bartender/owener opens it in the weekend and flyn's and the yukon bar). I very much recommend Tony's guidance and listings! all around top notch experience. Cheeers
Tony was an absolute joy to deal with. I only wanted to stay for one night - en route to somewhere else. It didn't really fit with his own plans - but he very graciously arranged for someone to meet me and let me in.
A great place in a pretty village - hope to get back there & explore !
There is a river - and looks like would be great walks !
I had the house to myself - and whilst I know this wouldn't always be the case - it is lovely little house - even has an open fire in the lounge room. Tony offered coal / fuel - but I was literally arriving at 6pm, and leaving at 6.30 am next morning.
Tony had really kindly left me milk, tea bags etc, and a beer !!! (I don't drink it - but it was a really lovely thought !).
Tony stopped by for a chat ( after returning from his trip to the airport).
It is a great place - and I hope to be back - for longer next time !!
The house is available for longer term rental.
A perfect Airbnb experience !
Certainly the best value for our money during our Ireland travels. Tony was great in providing suggestions on places to go, sights to see, and he was most helpful during our stay. He dropped off the paper in the morning, and as no one else was staying there we had the townhouse to ourselves. This would be a wonderful location as a base to stay while visiting the surrounding countryside. Our arrival plans changed, and Tony readily accommodated us, which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed a delightful evening listening to traditional Irish music in nearby Cavan and there are nearby eateries for meals without the need for driving.
