Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Some houses are comfortable. This one is alive.
The Good Ol' Farmhouse sits at the foot of Hurricane Mountain on a quiet country road in Keene — one of the most beautiful valleys in the entire Adirondacks. With five bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and space for up to 10 guests, it's built for the kind of trip people actually remember: long mornings over coffee, long evenings around a fire, dogs running in the yard, and mountains waiting at your door.

The space
Two indoor gas fireplaces mean the living room and the bedrooms stay warm and glowing even when the temperature drops below zero. Two outdoor fire pits mean you never have to choose between a crisp night under the stars and the people you came with. The outdoor shower — a genuine luxury after a long summit day — lets you rinse off before you ever track a speck of mud inside. This is a farmhouse that has thought about hikers, families, dog owners, and people who just want to breathe for a few days.

The outdoors

The farmhouse sits on Hurricane Road, which leads directly to the Hurricane Mountain trailhead — one of the most rewarding hikes in the eastern Adirondacks, with 360-degree summit views and a manageable ascent for most fitness levels. A short drive puts you at the Ausable River, the Giant Mountain trailhead, and the heart of Keene Valley. Lake Placid is 20 minutes away for restaurants, the Olympic venues, and shopping.

In the fall, this stretch of the valley turns into something you have to see to believe.

Pets

We love dogs and we've built the house around them. There's space to run, an outdoor shower to rinse off muddy paws, and a pet fee of $ 50 per stay to cover extra cleaning. Please bring their bed.

A few things to know

This is a true Adirondack farmhouse — it has character, a working wood-burning feel, and genuine quiet. You will hear birds in the morning and nothing at night. Cell signal is can be limited on the property; we have strong WiFi.The nearest grocery store is in Elizabethtown (20 min) — stock up before you arrive. There is also Valley Grocery in Keene Valley, which is small but they have a great selection. Stewart's is 2 minutes away, for late evening ice cream or pizza cravings!

The neighborhood

You're in Keene, the gateway to the High Peaks. Hurricane Road is one of the quietest and most scenic roads in the valley. Neighbors are local — there are no other rentals on this road. This is the real Adirondacks, not the resort version.
