Petralona is a traditional neighborhood of Athens, very close to Athens' Center: Omonoia, Syntagma, Thissio, Monastiraki are only 2-3 stations away, a distance you can also cover on foot (ex. Thissio is in a 10min. walk, Monastiraki in a 15min. walk etc); but it's more domestic and safe, as it is still inhabited by locals. In the last years, it has attracted a wide range of people, mainly of artistic professions, and has become an alternative destination for its cafés, bars and taverns.
The apartment is also very close to Kerameikos area (Gazi), where you can find even more options for entertainment and nightclubbing, and also the new Benaki Museum. Supermarkets, drugstore, bakery, banks and post office are all nearby.
The house is a 60's-70's athenian apartment, of 70s.m. and you can use it as if yours. Your bedroom has a double bed, closets, and a desk. Sheets and towels included. Also I can place a second mattress in the room, if needed; in addition, the couch in the living-room can be transformed in a double bed.
I'll be happy to welcome you here, and to help you get around!!
you can feel free to use our place as you want, but don't forget to be kind!!
Kalliopi is a wonderful hostess. She was so helpful in giving us good suggestions for where to go and where to eat. She also waited over an hour for us so that she could greet us even though we should up late from the airport. Her house is in a great location, close to the main shopping areas and the acropolis. You can take a metro to the acropolis but we just walked. It's a pretty walk. Her place is also walking distance from some good restaurants in the evening. From the airport, you only have to transfer once on the metro and her place is pretty close to the metro stop once you get off. We really loved staying with her. She also has an awesome cat! A little shy at first but very sweet. The room is spacious and the neighborhood is reallatively quiet but full of locals so there are always people around. There's a grocery store and ATM close by on the next street over and plenty of bakeries, places to get coffee and a snack. We would definitely stay with Kalliopi again! Her place was perfect.
Just what we were looking for affordable and close to the center. Nice appartment and quiet neighborhood.
Kalliopi is very nice, and the appartment is clean and easy to find ,when we left, my watch left her house, and she sent message to us!she is sooooo kind!
The place is 10 mins walking from the metro station, which is convenient if you'd like to visit the city centre. Syntagma & Monaistriaki are within 10 - 15 mins by metro train. Kalliopi was welcoming and spent time walking us through areas / cafes which would interest us. We encountered a minor glitch in that the bathroom required fixing and the day we landed, the plumber wasn't available. A decent place for a couple to camp over.
Kalliopi was extremely informative and welcoming. Her place was nice and clean. Her cat was also very curious and lovable. We recommend this place. Not too far from the metro and many shops around as well.
Thanks for making our short stay so pleasant! We enjoyed meeting you and your kitty! We also appreciated the advice on where to shop. Your location is very convenient, close enough to walk to many places and also close to the metro. Getting down to Pireaus to catch our ferry to the islands was very easy.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
"Amy’ s reservation has been a little unfortunate -even though the room wash t available, it seems that before realizing it, i had already accepted it by pressing the wrong button from my mobile phone! Since it was a last minute request (in the same day), not much time was left to sort it out. I sent her a message right away explaining the situation, and amy found herself another home in the meanwhile.
I apologize to her for this mistake, and I am glad that it was all settled pretty fast. It s not at all in my intentions to cancel bookings, and this situation has upset me a lot."
