Franc's place is wonderful and different - as indeed is Franc! The house is built around symmetrical architectural principles and is both unusual and interesting. The atmosphere is very positive and is enhanced by Franc's pet pigs that roam the garden and her very friendly dogs. Franc was very generous and made us a lovely vegan breakfast (my wife is vegan) before waving us off with a present of the remaining banana bread she'd baked for breakfast. A memorable stay - we loved it!

Considering the price that we paid to stay one night there, we could say that the service was quite commensurate with that. Even so, we would like to point out that despite the good treatment by the woman in the house, who does not like the experience of being in the countryside, in a house/farm with pigs, dogs and a donkey, will hate this place. The road to reach is a little bit difficult as we find very narrow dirt roads and at night can be a bit confusing but the indications given by the woman and the location that provides makes with the GPS becomes a less complicated task. The house is a bit cold, it is dirty and there are spiders and dust. In addition the dogs walk inside the house. The blankets smell bad and the beds are a little hard. The breakfast is super complete and varied. She also worried about buying gluten-free products when I told about my intolerance. It is a perfect place to see the stars at night, breathe fresh air and wake up surrounded by nature. In short, we enjoyed the experience but we feel that is you must go prepared to experience the authentic life on an Irish farm.

Response from Franc:
You paid twenty euro per person, got tea on arrival, cooked breakfast, two separate menus and I don't totally agree that was commensurate. Nice word by the way. I am sorry that you didn't find the room and bathroom clean; all linens, floors and bathroom are always cleaned/changed for guests, I would like to reassure other visitors. I think everyone knows that this is a vegan pet farm so you do not have to worry that people will come unprepared. Everyone lets their dogs inside in winter if they have half a heart too. But I'm sorry they were annoying. I wish I had not invited you into my front room. I would not have done so if I had known what a miserable, intolerant judgement you were going to make on the place. As I said at breakfast, your intolerance to gluten is the very least of your worries and that that only happens after you find other aspects of life difficult to digest. I also wish I hadn't bothered doing a soul retrieval for you. I am so irritated with your review that I am going to take Harmony Hall off airbnb and deny others the experience and help I gave you. I really don't want anyone 'hating the place'. Go and ruin someone else's efforts. I agree there are spiders, they said they are sorry too for hanging around in corners and inadvertently spoiling your night away too.

We stopped over for a night in Kilkenny and found Franc's house. We stayed in a nice an big family room upstairs. Franc gave us all necessary information already in advance. Franc has dogs and pigs and a horse, if you like animals (as we do) you will have fun.

We stayed at Harmony Hall, in Kilkenny, for four days. We had a wonderful time meeting Frances and spending time with the animals. Frances very helpful in giving us directions and recommending places to visit. The house is very spacious, very comfortable with fantastic views of the country side, peaceful. And last, but not least, Frances makes excellent, delicious and nutritious vegan breakfasts. Cheers!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Harmony Hall. Francis is a welcoming, kind hostess with great sense of humor and a gentle spirit. She's a delight. Her home is amazing, really cool architecture, and full of good energy. And she showed us around her land, which was lovely. We definitely hope to stay there again! P.S. The vegan breakfast is scrumptious!
