Typical Tuscan House situated in an ancient hamlet in the area of Siena countryside. The Villa with private swimming pool has 4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, living room and private garden equipped with chairs and sun beds. We prefer to rent it for a minimum period of 7 nights. In July and August the stay starts on Saturday.
From a tiny hamlet that dates back to 1047 ad, the views of Monte Maggio seem drawn on the horizon. The Montagnola region, just 30 minutes northwest of Siena, offers excellent mountain biking and hiking on its rugged yet welcoming terrain.
The entire hamlet consists of this villa, four other stone structures and a Romanesque church. Behind this house there is a garden with a private swimming pool, a furnished patio and a gazebo overlooking the ruins of an ancient tower and even San Gimignano on a clear day. The views from this hilly terrain extend beyond the trees into the surrounding countryside.
Simple rustic furnishings, tile floors and beamed ceilings adorn this home. The house is equipped with a washer, use of a shared clothes dryer, screens on all of the windows and satellite television. Guests have use of a shared dryer located in an outdoor laundry room. Firewood is included in the price. Maid service and meals are available if reserved when booking. Parking is 50 yards from the house.
Colle Val dElsa, within a 15 minute drive, has a supermarket, restaurants and shops. Within 30 minute drives are Siena and San Gimignano. Castellina in Chianti is 45 minutes away, and Volterra or Florence are both within an hour by car.

My fiancé and I spent 5 nights here in September and we were amazed at how beautifully designed the house was and the surrounding gardens and views! It was also located far away from any noise or traffic. It wasnt far from many of the big towns which made it the perfect location also. The house had everything we needed and Simone, who worked on the winery, was a great host and very friendly and helpful and easy going. There is also a beautful house nearby which sleeps more people, but If you're as lucky as we were, you may have the whole place to yourself, including the pool!
Cannot fault this accommodation, highly recommended!!
We never met Graziella; her father takes care of the premises. He is a gruff, inhospitable person uninterested in making guests feel welcome. He made us leave a 150 Euro deposit although we had already paid; this was not written in the house rules. Graziella had written that we would have to pay a 35 Euro fee for final cleaning, which was fine with us, but when we left, her father scolded us for leaving the dishes unwashed and said we would have to pay extra, which led to a ridiculous misunderstanding that had to be cleared up by a phone call to Graziella since her father does not speak English. Instead of listening to my complaint, Graziella talked at the same time until I finally had to hang up because we were going to be late for our plane. That said, the surroundings are perfectly beautiful, the pool is nice, the location is wonderful. The apartment we stayed in was in need of renovation; the shower didn't drain properly and all the fixtures were old and unattractive. I have stayed in nicer apartments for the same price in this area. Above all, a good host can make mediocre accommodations welcoming, but an unwelcoming host can make the most luxurious accommodations unappealing.
Ottima esperienza! :)
Tuscany is beautiful and has lots of places to stay. I wouldn't recommend staying here. We had numerous issues-- including having them ask us to check out at 8 or 9 am eventhough the listed check out time is 11.
We were the first visitors for the season, and late March in Tuscany is still cold. As was the apartment; the first night was frigid, and we had to call to get the hot water turned on. We never met Graziella Daniele. We spoke on the phone to a man, and our greeter and caretaker was the man's father, and he didn't understand that we'd paid in advance. Things got cleared up the next day, and the old gent offered a peace offering when we left--giving a couple of us teeshirts of the place. We did get a tour of the winery and met the owner and winemaker--he is a special man.
Graziella's place in Montalcino is magical. We and our friends had an amazing time. Although we didn't meet Graziella in person, she was incredibly helpful in setting everything up. She even allowed us to push our reservation back a week because of bad weather. Her father met us at the farmhouse and showed us around, he was a wonderful man.

Gorgeous location, and charming - but simple - accommodations. We really enjoyed our night at Podere Brizio, and time in Montalcino. Marco was gracious, and waited around for our delayed arrival, because....
Directions provided by host in English were very, very poor. It appears that Italian directions were dumped into an online translation tool and much of the meaning was lost. Use GPS to locate Tavernelle heading out of Montalcino, and turn right at the recycling bins. It's hard to miss!
What a beautiful spot! The apartments were lovely and though we didn't get to meet Graziella we were warmly greeted by her father, Paolo and other guests invited us to join them for wine when we arrived. Paolo also took us on a tour of the Cantina where they were destemming grapes for their wonderful Brunello wines. Paolo spoke no English but somehow we were able to communicate with our limited Italian just fine. We would definitely return here if we go back to the area around Montalcino!
I wish I'd had more time to stay in this beautiful farmhouse near Montalcino. We were driving through the hill towns of southern Tuscany, and due to a few bad turns ended up getting to Graziella's place quite late, and we had to leave early. However, I can say the apartment was very spacious and well equipped, spotlessly clean, and comfortable accommodation even for a much larger group than ours. It was, in fact, the largest place we stayed in, and the location just a few minutes out of Montalcino made for a great base for exploring Tuscany.
It also has a large swimming pool, and is situated in an olive grove and vineyard, with views over the rolling hills of the region. Highly recommended.
