The apartment is very well located, for Burgas. It is within a 7 minute walk to the beach, a 10-15 minute walk to the center of the city, there are many shops within 300 meters of it: a general small supermarket, a bakery, a butchery, a dairy shop, a drug store, 3 fruit & vegetables little shops, a regular pharmacy and a 24h pharmacy, so unless one needs something very specific, you can get it all within 10 minutes on foot. That said, the neighbourhood is in rather poor shape, despite its fairly excellent location. The streets and sidewalks are broken up, there is trash on the ground everywhere and the buildings are often in poor shape. This is of course not something the host can do anything about, his apartment was very well kept, but it is a thing to consider if one is staying for longer than a few nights. On the plus side, you can park your car near the apartment without any sort of card, pass or anything.
The apartment itself is as advertised, there is a functional kitchen with everything one needs for simple cooking, there is air conditioning, which is perfect for the summer, because Burgas is full of extremely loud seagulls, cars and often people. There is also a kindergarten next door, and the children could get very loud by about 10 am. The AC helped with sleeping peacefully even longer into the morning.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, namely it was a little shorter than we were used to and the mattress was oddly hard and jumpy, but that could easily be just different standards for bedding in different countries. Overall, the apartment was excellent for a couple, I suppose even a couple with a small child might enjoy it (there was a cot for toddlers and babies in the apartment as well). We enjoyed our stay in it.
Stanimir was a lovely host. Always polite, always ready to help and always available on his phone, even long before our journey, he always answered my questions, no matter how inane, readily and with the utmost patience. We had a rather unfortunate incident which forced us to call him in the middle of the night during our stay, and there wasn't a single problem with that on his end. He also left us a carton of juice and a fruit plate as a welcome gift, which was very much appreciated.
