Fully self-contained small one bedroom apartment at the rear of our home nicknamed The Pavilion for want of another word!

Perfect for 2 guests, and possible (but cosy!) for up to 4.

The space

Think a compact space with cool whites, colour splashes and deco we have collected over our years of travel. Everything has been designed to make you feel at home (yet on a holiday!!)

Pack nothing and expect everything! We have tried to anticipate all the little things you may need (shampoo, moisturizer, beach towels, robes, umbrella, salt and pepper, mosquito repellant etc etc). Bedding features crisp white linens (very important!) and summer/winter layers we can change depending on your preference. If there is a facility that we have not listed, please let us know and we can can certainly consider it for you.

Guest access

You will have the entire space to yourself which includes a sundeck and BBQ. There is also separate access to the street so you can come and go as you please. The only shared facilities are the clothesline and drier should you wish to use them, but there is an additional small washing line at the side for your use only. Whilst the Pavilion itself is yours, the kitchen/dining and deck areas overlook our backyard and into the family room and kitchen of our home and outdoor area.

Interaction with guests

You will be able to view our home from the sundeck and can see if we are around should you need us at all - we are in and out throughout the day and always contactable by phone if required. If you would like a coffee or chat please let us know and we can certainly oblige! or we will happily leave you with enough information to explore the area on your own.

Other things to note

We enjoy spending time with friends and will often do this on the weekends on our back deck which is directly opposite the Pavilion accommodation. Never usually late or loud, there may be this presence there during your stay.

Please note there is a single portable induction hotplate in the kitchenette for limited stovetop cooking - there is also a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. Outside, we have a small Weber BBQ for your sole use.

There is one smallish bedroom with a queen bed - the other sleeping arrangements for up to 2 more guests is on a very large and comfortable sofa (not sofa bed) that converts to an almost double bed sleeping area - quite cosy for 2 adults (better for one!) but can comfortably accommodate 2 small children.

Free-to-air television is available in both the bedroom and living room, with Netflix available in the living room only.

We have 2 small schnauzers and one cat that call us their people! They are usually in our home, however do use the shared yard for napping and playing. For guests that like animals they love attention! but are also happy to be ignored and do their own thing for those guests that don't.

Complimentary bottle of wine or bubbly plus bottled water on arrival - please let us know your preference when booking.

Complimentary coffee and tea making facilities provided.

The Pavilion is perfect for 2 guests, and possible (but cosy!) for up to 4, however please be aware of the bedding configuration. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and the additional sleeping is on a large sofa in the living room - it is the one that is in photo 8. With all the cushions taken off it has a comfortable feather base that is 2m long by 1.25 m wide which is in between a king single/double bed width. It is not a traditional sofa bed in the sense that it does not fold back each day so in this case you would have the bedding on the sofa for the duration of your stay if you wished to use the sofa during the day. Please note there is not enough space in the bedroom for a portable cot. There is limited room in the living room for a cot if guests provide one however we feel this would limit your comfort in using the space.

We live a relaxed lifestyle but are super neat and clean! so appreciate guests that also enjoy this kind of ambience. Whilst weekly/each stay cleaning is part of the service there is a Dyson and cleaning items kept in the property should you wish to maintain the space for your own comfort (for longer stays) in between this.

We also appreciate guests who leave doors and gates locked as they find them when the enter/exit the property - for your safety as much as ours! and we also have a small dog on the property.

No smoking or pets allowed.

No visitors allowed without prior notice and consent.

The sundeck is slightly raised (900mm) from ground level and has no railing so small children would require supervision.

Check-in is usually 2pm - 9pm and check-out 8am - 10am however we can be flexible and are happy to accommodate either earlier or later dependent on availability. Please advise of your preferred check-in time 48 hours prior to arrival and we will then confirm availability with you.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - There are 3 steps that lead from the path to the entrance door on the deck
Pet(s) live on property - One small dog and cat call us their family

Paul, Nicole and their son, Zack, were amazing hosts. So professional, so warm, and so giving. Their home felt like our home. The attention to detail is splendid and they really make sure you have everything you could need so you don't have to worry about anything. You can relax and enjoy while staying in their comfy, modern home. When you arrive you're greeted with your choice of wine and essentials like bread, milk and water are provided. Additionally, Nicole and Paul keep the house immaculate. Saying it's clean would be an understatement because everything is spotless. The home is near an awesome nature reserve with Kangaroos and Koalas and it's also only a half hour drive to the main attractions of the Gold Coast. Great airbnb and i'd highly recommend staying here.

Paul and Nicole have created a home that is very inviting, cozy and relaxing for AirBnB guests. Their house is located in a super convenient location that has grocery stores, chemist, restaurants and even a kids play area with small waterfront - all of which are at a walking distance. Paul and Nicole have very well thought of and provided for all the essential things that a small family could/would need during a stay at the Gold Coast. Apart from all the necessities, they have even provided for a coffee machine, hot plate, toaster, utensils, plastic containers, etc. to name a few. Their dogs Maisy and Jackie, and Edina the cat provide really good company during the stay! Overall, we give them 5 stars for creating such an amazing home. If anyone's thinking of going to Gold Coast for a short trip - I highly recommend staying over at Paul and Nicole's home! Best wishes Paul, Nicole and Zac

Not a bad word to say. Paul and Nicole are amazing hosts and their place is absolutely beautiful. So many lovely little touches such as some yummy snacks and a beautiful wine. They were so organised and prepared with a whole booklet on everything you would ever need to know, including some menus for local restaurants! Such helpful hosts who were able to give us some tips and just lovely to talk with. The place itself is amazing as well, perfect for a couple and I was upset that I had to part ways with the most incredible couch in the world. Cannot wait to come back and cannot recommend this place enough! AMAZING!

My 12-year-old son and I stayed at the Pavilion in Paradise for a week during school holidays. Paul and Nicole were the best of hosts, and they really helped us to make the most of our week in the sun. I have never stayed anywhere where so much thought has been put into making a guest’s stay as comfortable as possible. We wanted for nothing! The Pavilion is beautifully decorated and appointed , and really was our home away from home. It is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at Paradise Point, which was central to theme parks, beaches and shopping. Nicole and Paul made sure that we had information about local attractions and amenities, and they checked in with us from time to time. It was clear that they wanted our stay to be the best possible. We highly recommend Paul and Nicole’s Pavilion in Paradise!

Cheers Peter - it was a pleasure to meet you both and we would love to see you (URL HIDDEN) fingers skipped a step on the keyboard when I left your review asking if we would recommend to other hosts and I can't edit it (aargh!) so please accept this as a definite YES! for any other potential hosts out there. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay.

I have lived and worked in Cyprus, Malaysia and Bahrain and have now settled in Australia with my wife and son to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle Australia is famous for. We enjoy lazy afternoons, music, the company of good friends and enjoying our local community places and spa…
