The Space

Welcome to this in-town cottage located in the village of Waterbury, VT! This cozy house offers three bedrooms, with a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and two bunk beds, along with one bathroom. Lots of character and cozy spaces make for a welcome retreat after a busy day of travel.

Expect a comfortable stay featuring lofted ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen (with gas range and dishwasher), patio and barbecue, and toys and games to keep everyone occupied on a rainy afternoon. Wireless internet, local broadcast TV, and unlimited US and Canada calling on the house phone are all included. The house sits on a quiet dead-end street within a 5-minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants.

The house is one "block" from a great natural playground. Within 5-minutes walking (about a quarter mile) you will find yourself in the heart of Waterbury Village, known for its great restaurants, featuring hearty meals (think local meats/cheeses/veggies) and vast beer selection (both locally made and from around the world). The shops include grocer, local book shops, antiques, a toy store, etc. Don't forget a visit to Green Mountain Coffee (within walking distance and also the site of the Amtrak station) and Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory (a 5-minute drive).

Arrive via highway (located right off I-89), bicycle, or Amtrak train. Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Bolton Valley resorts are all within 30 minutes drive. Burlington, VT is also about 30 minutes drive. The village of Waterbury also offers a skate rink, swimming pool, performance center, reservoir with beach, walking trails, farmer's markets, live music and events all year round! If this is your first time visiting, you will be amazed at how much there is to do in the area.

The house is our family getaway away and we want to share it with you! Known to us as Luci's 'Mont House (our then 2-year-old daughter's naming), we hope you will enjoy the place as much as we do. While it's certainly not fancy, you will find the place comfortable, quiet, and a great place to come home to after what is sure to be a busy day in this great part of Vermont! Send us an inquiry if you are interested or have any questions about the house or the area.

  • We had a great time at Alicia and Craig's cottage. The location is perfect, within walking distance to Waterbury, and the cottage is full of all the things you need when you travel with kids. Communication was great and Alicia was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. Much appreciated.

  • Perfect experience with the hosts and the property! Hosts were very flexible and accommodating. Cottage was great for three friends in town for a long weekend. Easy walking distance to the restaurants and bars on Main Street. We would definitely stay again!

  • The house was even cuter than I had expected! The location was perfect – we were able to walk to downtown Waterbury, and drive easily to other locations nearby. The grocery store is a 2-minute drive, and a delicious bagel shop was just a few blocks' walk away. We had a third car, and it was very easy to park it at the Park & Ride, which is even closer than the grocery store.

Alicia was incredibly accommodating, and very communicative leading up to the rental weekend. The house had everything we needed when we got there.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Airbnb! I only wish we could have stretched out our girls' weekend and stayed longer. :) Thanks, Alicia!

  • Had a great stay here recently. Hosts were very easy to contact, lodging was just as described and surprisingly roomy. Location is great as it is walking distance to most bars and restaurants in town and a 5 minute drive to Ben and Jerrys Factory. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and equipment. Water was always warm and the rooms were maintained at an appropriate temperature. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Cottage was perfect for us and had all we needed for the week. It was warm and cozy and uncluttered. And it was within walking distance to town and 30 mins drive to Stowe, MRG and Sugarbush. Alicia was extremely helpful and accommodating. We would consider staying here again.

  • This is the perfect spot for a ski vaca! We loved the fully outfitted kitchen, comfy beds, and Nest thermostat (it knew when we got home so it could start to heat up the house). The cottage was only about 30 minutes to Stowe and 5 to a great grocery store. Highly recommended for a getaway!

  • The cottage is well kept and the photos do it the bare minimum justice. Alicia was a great host, ensuring that we were comfortable for the entire visit.

Great facilities, comfortable beds, room to play, and a 5 minute walk to the middle of Waterbury. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking & eating, too.

This is a highly recommended place to stay in the area!
