Whether you are in VT for a leaf-peep and a hike, a ski trip, or a beer-cation, Luci's 'Mont House is your retreat at the end of a busy day! Walking distance to amazing restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Or stay in and cook in the well-equipped kitchen.
The dead-end private road is usually very quiet. Enjoy a nice barbecue on the patio or take a short walk into town for dinner at several great restaurants!
Welcome to this in-town cottage located in the village of Waterbury, VT! This cozy house offers three bedrooms, with a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and two bunk beds, along with one bathroom. Lots of character and cozy spaces make for a welcome retreat after a busy day of travel.

The house is one "block" from a great natural playground. Within 5-minutes walking (about a quarter mile) you will find yourself in the heart of Waterbury Village, known for its great restaurants, featuring hearty meals (think local meats/cheeses/veggies) and vast beer selection (both locally made and from around the world). The shops include grocer, local book shops, antiques, a toy store, etc. Don't forget a visit to Green Mountain Coffee (within walking distance and also the site of the Amtrak station) and Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory (a 5-minute drive).
Arrive via highway (located right off I-89), bicycle, or Amtrak train. Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Bolton Valley resorts are all within 30 minutes drive. Burlington, VT is also about 30 minutes drive. The village of Waterbury also offers a skate rink, swimming pool, performance center, reservoir with beach, walking trails, farmer's markets, live music and events all year round! If this is your first time visiting, you will be amazed at how much there is to do in the area.

While it's certainly not fancy, you will find the place comfortable, quiet, and a great place to come home to after what is sure to be a busy day in this great part of Vermont! This neighborhood is usually quiet, despite it's close proximity to the village. The yard is very small and not very private but you will generally find the neighbors to be very friendly, so you should feel free to wave or say hello!
Plan to walk within the village - it's a lovely place to walk around, the sidewalks are generally plowed, and you will enjoy views of the mountains from the quiet streets of Waterbury.

The house was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and with a great location close to the mountains and within walking distance of downtown Waterbury. Host was very responsive and everything went smoothly, they even accommodated an early-than-usual check in!
The cottage was great! You couldn't ask for a better location for skiing and beer hunting. The short walk to the various restaurants of Waterbury was a huge plus (even through the -15˚ temperatures!), and there was plenty of skiing within a short drive.
The layout of the cottage was nice, with the open kitchen allowing those doing cooking to still talk to people in the living room.
I'm already thinking about coming back next year!
Alicia was very responsive and a great host. We have stayed at several different spots in Waterbury. This was a smaller house than the others, but all that we needed and can't beat the location for getting to places in Waterbury. We will definitely consider it for another stay.
We loved staying at Alicia and Craig's wonderful Waterbury house! It was very cozy and comfortable and exactly as described. It was a great getaway for a few days. Waterbury is a nice little town and fun to explore. Craig checked in at the beginning and end of our stay to make sure everything was good. Thank you Alicia and Craig for being such great hosts!
Alicia very quickly answered all my questions including ski resort recommendations while planning for our President's day weekend in Vermont.
We arrived very late on Friday evening but had no trouble finding or getting in the home thanks to the detailed instructions we received prior to leaving. Everything in the home was wonderful and worked as directed. I had forgotten to bring my book but found a good one at the home. My boys enjoyed the video selection during the little "down" time we had.
Waterbury and the home are centrally located. We skied Stowe Saturday and Sunday and then drove to Burlington for dinner Sunday night. Stowe, Sugarbush and Bolton ski resorts are short drives from the home. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of dining and shopping choices right in Waterbury. We didn't have time to do the Ben and Jerry's tour but I wish we had.
It was great to be back in Vermont again after many years of being away! I look forward to staying at Lucis Mount House when we return.
Everything was great! The house was as listed, had everything we needed, was cozy, and was easy to get all settled in. The host was quick to answer questions and working with her was super easy.
This house was awesome! We had a great time and the house perfectly provided everything that we needed, and we would love to come back, thanks so much Alicia!

My husband, Craig, and I are raising our two girls, ages 2 and 4, in beautiful Colchester, VT. We love to commute by foot and by bicycle, spend our free time outdoors whenever possible, and enjoy eating all of the fresh, local foods that abound in VT. Hosting guests, both in our home and in our Waterbury cottage, is one of our great joys because we have met so many wonderful people and we love to share our spaces to provide a more "real" travel experience.
