Interaction with Guests
I will interact with guests via email since I am usually offering the place when I am out of the country or visiting family on the East Coast. I usually ask a friend to provide keys and show guests where things are.
Generally quiet, close to Coyote Point Regional Park, close to SFO airport, easy drive to San Francisco. Walking distance to downtown Burlingame as well as downtown San Mateo.
There are several bus stops nearly for travel on the Peninsula or into San Francisco. The CalTrain is about a 12 minutes walk from the house. One reserved parking space is provided for guests.
Other Things to Note
While guests can use the gym and the pool, they should not go in groups larger than three adults, in conformance with the rules of the condo association. They also should not leave clothing outside, where my neighbors can see them.
The parking space for the unit as well as the garbage unit are behind the house.
Third bedroom and bathroom locked and off-limits.
No pets. No smoking.
No smoking (this is Northern California after all!).
Please be considerate of my neighbors as it relates to late night noise; next door is a small child.
Monika's home was small but comfortable for our family trip. Parking was just fine most times over this holiday weekend, once we figured out that the reserved space was in a garage beyond the unit and not right adjacent to it. Even so we were able to park right next to the unit most of the time.
this is a nice and warm house, spacious and has everything you need. Kitchen is stacked with a lot of cooking utensils, baths and rooms are clean and the heater works great. Monika is a very caring and considered host, we were able to communicate very well. Thanks for a great time for our family members from overseas.
Great house, clean and well maintained. Would book it again if i needed to stay in the area.
Monika's townhouse is very comfortable and her email communications make you feel welcomed to her home. We have nothing but positives for her, the accommodations, and the location.
We had just the perfect start to our holiday. The place was neat and tidy and whilst out host was not around, Robert was around to show us around. Everything we needed was just there and the use of the club house just made the holiday complete. When we checked out we had to wait half an hour for the rental car and were given permission to leave our bags in the lounge until the car arrived. The place was extremely safe and a perfect location for us to catch up with family and friends.
This was a special trip for Theatre Group Dzieci. Seven us were going out to the Bay Area for 10 jam-packed days of performances and workshops and we needed an economical central location that could house everyone, plus offer some much needed R&R for such a heavy schedule. Monika's home provided all of that.
We performed each night and every morning (and a few late evenings!) swam in the pool and soaked our tired muscles in the jacuzzi. We were also able to cut down on costs by making many of our meals in her well appointed kitchen, and it was an extra bonus to be able to clean costumes in her washing machine after every show.
We also enjoyed feeding the ducks and ducklings at the bucolic fountain pond, and managed to take a short hike over to Coyote Point, wander the beach on the bay side, and visit the animal rescue sanctuary - a perfect spot for kids, or those who are still kid-like. On the way back, we picked wild blackberries on the overpass of Highway 101.
I read some mention of the street noise at night, and though there is a bit of that on the master bedroom side of the house, it doesn't happen much late at night, and the windows, when shut, completely close off sound.
Due to unforeseen events, there were some hitches to our stay, but I must say that Monika proved to be most accommodating and generous in working out the problems.
This is a great place if you need some separation from the hustle and bustle, but still want to be close to enough to the action to get your fill. It was a tight fit for seven, but if you were a large family, or even two families, you couldn't find a better location.
Theatre Group Dzieci
Monika was very quick to confirm the rental to us. Once we arrived, we only had to contact Monika once about a drip in the toilet, which she advised would be fixed after our departure.
