The Space

After years of traveling & living in Morocco. We have found the place to stay and now open our door to you!
Real peace, real Morocco & beauty. It's is a Traditional Moroccan Berber Riad.
The Riad is situated just 2.5 kms above the infamous fishing & surfing village of Taghazout, which is home to beaches, a selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, internet café & pharmacy.
The Riad is perfectly placed in the Anti Atlas Argan Tree region, just minutes from the beaches and 7 minutes from the world renowned Ancre Point, Killers Point & Banana Point.
There are so many varied reasons for visiting Morocco, varied areas and varied places to stay. We're certain the country, location and Riad will make your stay in Morocco as perfect as it can be.
Being a traditional Berber Riad, the house has all the feel of going back years into the real feel of this Berber area, yet providing the needs and comfort of the modern world. The 4 bedroom Riad has traditionally styled bedrooms, each with comfy beds, Berber timber ceilings, tiled or Tapi floors.
A totally open yet private courtyard & garden with banana, fruit trees & flowers for shade when needed and protection from light wind. A fully equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge/freezer all crockery, cutlery etc. A laundry room with washing machine. Wetroom/shower. Separate toilet. A great outside dining/chill area with woodburning stove. A roof terrace with long reaching sea and mountain views all around. BBQ area with Tagines, gas hobs charcol & gas BBQ.
The cooking areas are important as the fruit, vegetables, fish and meat are superbly fresh and inexpensive here.
When you find yourself here, what you do is up to you: simply...relax if you so desire. The mountain area here embraces you into relaxation and peace of mind.
If surf is what your after without the regiment of surf camps, then here you have it: Stay above the bustle of Taghazout and still be minutes away from famous Points such as Ancres, Banana & Killers.
The area offers so much more: Mountain biking, Quad biking, Horse riding, Art & Photography, Rock climbing, Golfing, Trekking and all the flora & fauna this region has to offer. Wildlife includes: eagles, shrikes, finches, ground squirrels, lizards, geckos, Argan trees, mountain thyme; the list goes on!
The beauty of Paradise Valley is a short drive away.
Agadir is just 30 minutes drive and offers a different world again: huge soux, the fishing port, supermarkets, casinos, nightclubs, restaurants of all descriptions.
Marrakesh & Essaouira are both a 2 1/2 hour drive.
The ancient Coastal Berber village of Ait Bihi is located just minutes above Taghazout. The village is quiet and so friendly and a few local words (Which we will provide) are always very welcome. There is a small shop in Ait Bihi, providing everyday stores. Berber taxis run to & from Ait Bihi to Taghazout. Local taxis are simple to request and provide services to Taghazout, Agadir and beyond.
Living right next door, we are on hand to provide any help during your stay whilst giving you the feeling of truly being in a home away from home
For the duration or any part of your stay, we are happy to source & provide your own rental car. This can be delivered to the riad, be collected or welcome you at the airport
We can cook/provide meals if required.
Basically, we first traveled to Morocco in the 80's and fell in love with it's uniqueness, open beauty, superb fresh produce & cooking, as well of course it's awesome surf! We are now lucky enough to have our Riad exactly where we had always imagined.
We will help you love your stay all we can
Come and stay.........And enjoy!

  • Great times with Dave, He is a great host. If your seeking a more traditional Riad experience away from the tourists in Taghatzout, Dave's is the spot. Strictly Roots.

  • An awesome place with a more awesome host! We just spent one day here but loved it and looking forward to come back. Hippie and easy going mood, very clean and welcoming. Highly recommended! The highlight of the visit: Dave's map to get to Paradise Valley!

  • The image of Dave's mustache almost deterred me from contacting him on Airbnb and I'm so glad it didn't. His place is a quiet, open traditional house/compound (riad) just a few minutes drive up from Taghazout. I'd rather rub sand in my eyes than hang out in Taghazout for more than 20 minutes, so it's been great to have an escape up the hill. The place has sweet ocean views and is a short drive to a bunch of all-time surf breaks. Dave has more than 30 years of Moroccan surf experience and can definitely push you (literally, if you ask nicely) into some great waves.

The surf was pretty flat the first week we were here, but listening to Dave's stories over a tasty tagine almost every night kept us in stitches and forgetting about the flat spell. Great people, great place. Just remember: don't fear the facial hair.

About
We have over thirty years combined experience travelling and living in Morocco. With interests as varied as Moroco itself, we have expertise and insight to share on local culture, flora & fauna, history and destinations near and far; whether it be the bustling market cities or mountains and deserts to the world class waves of this coast. With our blend of Western and African living, we share our unique perspective of this country with guests from around the world and love to help them experience the best of what this country has to offer. We have a small, but reliable and personally vetted network of friends/hosts scattered across the country that we refer to our guests to help ease travel anxiety. Advice on everything from renting a car (without a deposit), to dining out, shopping and cooking a tagine is just a question away. Although we live next door, (so we are usually on hand) we respect the privacy of our guests and want them to feel at home.
