My wife and I live in the upstairs unit of the building. We are both working professionals and are home usually in the evenings. However, I can be reached via cell phone 24/7. The great thing about living on site is it allows us to address any questions/concerns you may have. We are both laid back and respectful. We have lived in this city close to 20 years, so we can help you with suggestions on places to visit, eat, etc.

Ashir was very kind to answer questions promptly and to provide clear instructions about the location. The room and accommodations were as described and the neighborhood was nice and strategically located in the city - My girlfriend and I drove a rental and were able to find parking nearby after driving around the block a couple of times.
We did not have a chance to meet Ashir personally but a friendly caretaker was in his place and who provided all assistance that was required.
Hosts were very responsive and helpful. The room was well-maintained and the apartment is located in a great neighborhood. Overall a very positive experience.
As a bachelor looking for a reasonable, last minute booking in a good location, this listing met my expectations. Those seeking something a bit more cute, charming, or quaint, might be a bit disappointed. I would describe this as being more of a boarding house than a bed and breakfast. Here are the pros and cons:
-Immediate and quick confirmation: I was able to book this the day I was flying in to San Francisco. I received an immediate confirmation and quickly received check in instructions as well.
-Incredibly polite and helpful host. Ashir promptly replied to all of my messages and answered my questions. He even moved my car for me when I accidentally parked in front of the wrong driveway... thus saving my car from getting towed. Thanks Ashir!
-Great location: Only a block away from the intersection of Haight and Ashbury.
-Quiet: The neighborhood and building are very quiet and I got a great night's sleep both nights.
-Price: Cost was very reasonable for the area.
-Overall the ambiance was a bit drab and worn around the edges. Had kind of a "college apartment" feel to it. Not much natural lighting in the hallways or rooms. The furniture in my room looked like old dorm furniture. Again, I'm single and didn't really care that much. I was just looking for a cheap bed to sleep in for a couple nights. Not recommended if you're looking for anything more than that.
The place was in a very quiet and serene neighborhood. No noise, very close to Haight-Ashbury itself and the Golden Gate park. Amenities were all in good order and Ashir is a good chaplain to talk to for conversation :)
My boyfriend and I had a pretty good experience with the room. The room was clean and big. Everything was clean and the hosts were very friendly and were very quick to respond. The location was very good one block away from haight street which is pretty eccentric but all in all felt safe. Very close to golden gate park (great coffee place named fly wheel) we made breakfast every morning big kitchen with a lot of pots and pans.

About the Host, Ashirvadam
I live in the building with my wife. I work as a hospice chaplain and my wife a teacher and we both work in the city. Our two adult children are studying medicine on the East Coast. I love getting to know new people, love traveling, enjoy cooking spicy Indian food for my family & friends, love watching sports on TV and listening to music on the radio. I love helping people in their most vulnerable times and that is why I am a hospice chaplain. My life's motto is 'life is an adventure-live it to the fullest while you have it'....
