We have lived in this city close to 20 years, so we can help you with suggestions on places to visit, eat, etc.

This was a great experience for me staying with Ashirvadam. She was lovely and understanding. I would visit again.
Ashir and his wife were friendly and accommodating with my arrival. The place quaint and the room was perfect for my needs. The location is great and super close to Golden state park.
The best feature of this listing is its location - right in the middle of the historic Haight-Ashbury, and only a few minutes' walk to great eating, shopping, and lovely Golden Gate park. There are also bus/light rail lines in close proximity that can take you many places in the city. If you're planning on spending a lot of time running around the city, like we were, this location is a pretty great choice.
Ashir was very courteous, and also seemed very helpful, though my girlfriend and I didn't end up requiring any assistance. We only met him on a couple of occasions, though we were out of the house mostly unless we were sleeping. As a guest you are free to use the kitchen as well, which is very convenient, and the fixtures/appliances looked new. Again though, we didn't end up using these features.
Since the house itself is older, the doors/floors are creaky, and noise also travels well. So if you need absolute peace and quiet to sleep, probably not ideal for you. The street the house is on is pretty quiet, though.
Le quartier était très bien et on peut circuler à pied facilement. Pour l'arrivée, j'ai eu à suivre les instructions envoyées par email pour récupérer les clés et accéder à la chambre.
L'endroit était comme décrit dans l'annonce.
I spoke to Ashirvadam only on the phone, text, and email. He is very nice and hospitable to our reservation. My wife and I did a late check-in so he did not introduce himself in-person at arrival. The room is the same as pictured also the room is a bit bare and no air-flow because the window does not open. Among other guests staying in the house there is a shared bathroom and shower. The neighborhood is one street over from all the cool shops on Haight Ashbury, however at night there is a plethora of homeless people on the sidewalk walking and sleeping. The listing is great for exactly what is needed a place to sleep and shower. One last note, one morning my wife and I locked our guest room and when we returned from exploring the city our room had been opened.
The house is very nice and the neighborhood is also very quiet and safe. The location is close to the Golden Gate park so it's another big plus. The room is okay. Things are quite old and the room has a somewhat strong and unpleasant smell. The window cannot keep open, but with the strong smell, air circulation is a must.
Ashir was very kind and welcoming, though my interaction with him was brief. The room was very large but felt vacuous. I'd have appreciated more wall decor/a table book of SF, something. It was completely empty aside from the furniture. I think part of the charm of staying at an airbnb vs a hotel is the peek into someone else's life or feeling that you're home. This was very hotel-like. I would also echo someone's comment about the bedding. I guess I considered it a good thing and a bad thing that it felt like the sheets had been washed a million times. They were a bit nubby. And the comforter has a tear in it. Other than that, a perfectly acceptable place to stay. Bathroom was clean, shower pressure was good, and there was hot water left even when I was the last to shower in the morning rush. Very conveniently located as well, safe, quiet. Bring extra socks, it's cold.

About the Host, Ashirvadam
I live in the building with my wife. I work as a hospice chaplain and my wife a teacher and we both work in the city. Our two adult children are studying medicine on the East Coast. I love getting to know new people, love traveling, enjoy cooking spicy Indian food for my family & friends, love watching sports on TV and listening to music on the radio. I love helping people in their most vulnerable times and that is why I am a hospice chaplain. My life's motto is 'life is an adventure-live it to the fullest while you have it'....
