Private Room in Central Managua

House - Private room · Managua, Managua, Nicaragua

The Space

We are an international couple living and working in Nicaragua. We offer a comfortable room with private bathroom in the central Altamira neighborhood of Managua.

The room is equipped with a double bed (moskito net on request), big closet, fan, chair and bedside table, and a private bathroom with shower. Common areas that can be used as well are a big patio full of tropical plants and trees with seating area and hammocks, huge living room, and kitchen. The greenery around the house keeps it shady and breezy throughout the year.

There is free parking available in front of the house.

Guest Access

We offer purified water for free.

Interaction with Guests

We always like to meet new people and exchange stories and experiences!

We are more than happy to help you out with directions, tickets and tipps for day and nighttime activities in and around Managua, and we also have a collection of Nicaragua guidebooks (and plenty of personal travel experiences) to share.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in our little tropical paradise in the middle of the Nicaraguan capital!

The Neighborhood

The location of the house is very central but quiet, sitting at the top end of a small quiet street, in a safe neighborhood, only 5 minutes drive away from the Metrocentro area with good shops, cinema, restaurants and 10-15 minutes driving to the "old center" of Managua with its old cathedral and other sights. The house is 20 minutes from the airport and very close to Carretera Masaya, with the Galerias Santo Domingo, a big modern shopping mall with bars, restaurants and a cinema hall only 5 minutes driving. It is easy to take a bus or other transport from the house in direction Masaya (Volcano), Granada or the southern Pacific beaches of Nicaragua and there are also multiple city bus stations within 3 minutes walk. It is also easy to take a taxi from or to the house at any time.

  • Mesfin and Martina were wonderful hosts!! They were very easy going and easy to contact. When I arrived, I felt welcomed and they went out of their way to have everything that I needed. My space was clean and comfortable and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area with hammocks where I was able to relax comfortably before going to bed. I feel that the space is more than deserving of the price. It is in a great neighborhood. I walked around at night and had dinner. I definitely recommend them and would consider staying there again if I am ever in Managua.

  • This is a room in a nice house, in a safe neighbourhood. Mesfin and Martina are really good hosts, very friendly and informative. They are also very quick to respond to emails sent through airbnb. I highly recommend their place.

  • Great hosts. Very warm and welcoming. We only stayed one night in between flights. Quite neighbourhood and knowledgeable hosts. They stayed late chatting with us even though they had to go to work the next day. Intelligent and educated folks and very pleasant to speak with. Mesfin promised to change the mattress in the next few months. a bit soft for two people sleeping on it. A pleasant experience overall and a great deal.
    thank you guys.

  • Mesfin is an incredible host. My boyfriend and I contacted him about a last-minute trip to Nicaragua, and he was able to provide a room on short notice. He also accommodated us when we arrived in the middle of the night due to a late flight. He immediately opened his home and made us feel welcome. His home is a small paradise in the middle of busy Managua. We loved sitting outside under the covered patio. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and we had a private bathroom as well. Mesfin made us coffee and breakfast in the morning, and gave us great advice on visiting Managua and other parts of Nicaragua. He helped us make a reservation in Leon and recommended things to do and see and places to stay during our short time in Nicaragua. Aside from Mesfin being a great host and wealth of knowledge, his home is a wonderful, calm place to stay for a great price.

My boyfriend and I stopped back to have dinner with Mesfin and to meet Martina (who is equally as lovely) right before our flight back home. At this point, we realized they were more than gracious hosts, but also friends. I had traveler's stomach and Mesfin and Martina were more than hospitable in giving me a remedy and a place to rest, completely beyond what was part of our agreed AirBnB stay. My boyfriend had a wonderful time and great conversation with them over wine and dinner. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mesfin, Martina, and their home. I would recommend them above all else. They also have two wonderful cats who will keep you entertained and may even cuddle by your side.

If you want a comfortable, welcoming place to stay and a great host and guide to Nicaragua, Mesfin and his home are a wonderful choice.

  • It was just great! I contacted Mesfin and Martina on the last minute and they replied inmediately, which was of great help. Their place is big, it has a nice garden and terrace where to chill... but the best part of the saty are Mesfin and Martina. With Martina unfortunately I had a little contact, since she was travelling; but Mesfin was at home and he went out of his way to make me feel at home and give me the instructions I needed. If I go back to Managua, I am sure I would try to stay with them again. Thank you for all guys!

  • Martina ha sido muy amable y servicial. Nuestras charlas informales
