Marylu was an absolutely wonderful hostess! The weekend getaway at her beautiful cabin, adorned with her art, was exactly what I needed after a stressful few weeks at work. Marylu is very gracious, and left delicious pastries, cheese, crackers, fresh coffee and other treats, and was very helpful in helping find a perfect place for Saturday night dinner outing
The cabin is cheery, clean, and had everything one might need. It is also very centrally located, allowing easy access to downtown Sebastopol, Graton and Occidental. I would love the chance to stop by again for another retreat! Thank you Marylu for a wonderful time.
I love this cute little room!! Very delicate filled with a lot artful details. Everything is wonderful, the decoration shows elegance. In the night, we saw stars all over the sky, no city light interruption, just beautiful sky. A very pleasant stay.
I had a WONDERFUL stay in Marylu's gorgeous, charming cabin. The property and surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful and the cottage itself is comfortable (especially the bed!!). Marylu is an accommodating, generous host and the little touches (snacks, coffee, shampoo, etc) made our one-night stay perfect.
Really fantastic place! I loved everything about it. The cottage/cabin had loads of character, was utterly private, and blissfully quiet at night (except for the soothing sound of rain on the roof, and the croaking of frogs). Marylu's art work adorns the walls (and the floors), and the room is tastefully furnished with attractive and interesting pieces. It might be rather small for a couple, but for this single man, it was cozy and just right. I did not meet Marylu, until the last day, but we then had an interesting and pleasant conversation. I highly recommend Sunny Private Cabin in the Redwoods!
MaryLou could not have been more helpful or kind! Her cabin is adorable and a perfect getaway. The place was immaculate and she even left us some goodies to snack on. I'd highly recommend it!
I was looking for a place to get away from the City and unplug for the night, and Marylu's place fit the bill. It was cozy, quiet and welcoming. Her artistic touch is everywhere.
This place is super cozy and was the ideal getaway for my girlfriend and I. I wish we could've stayed longer! It's super convenient to the Coast, and so many of the area's attractions - including Redwood groves, vineyards, and great restaurants. Marylu was an extremely gracious host - quick to respond to all of my emails, and thorough with her responses! She made sure we had everything we needed and were well taken care of. I'd highly recommend Marylu's place.
What a place! Such a charming little cottage. Comfortable, welcoming, a perfect getaway spot that's relatively close to San Francisco while still feeling like a countryside escape. My sister and I had a great time meandering our way through Marin and Sonoma en route. After checking in, we had drinks and dinner at the small-town-yet-high-quality Barley & Hops Tavern in Occidental (very close drive from cottage). After enjoying delicious pastries, organic fruit, goat cheese, and tea in the morning (provided by the lovely Marylu), we drove to Bodega Bay for a picnic and worked our way down the coast.
What a lovely little cabin—warm, inviting, comfortable. I especially enjoyed the art, the trees and the tub. And I love this part of the world. What a great visit. I'd love to come back some day soon!
Staying at Marylu's cabin was a delight and wish it was for longer than one night. My boyfriend and I wanted a mini retreat off the beaten path. There is a lot to access from Maylu's - Bodega Bay, Occidental, Armstrong State Park, Old Growth Redwood Preserve, Sebastopol.
She is a thoughtful host. And provides lots of treats & thoughtful gestures for guests (cheese, crackers, fresh fruit, coffee/tea/creamers, fresh flowers). We chatted before we left in the morning and she had a lot of good ideas of breakfast places, hikes, and shared some about her art making.
I would highly recommend - especially if you are looking for something cozy, thoughtful, and different from a hotel.
