  • The Black Cat Hideaway was the perfect place to stay in Arcata. It was cozy, conveniently located, quiet, and well stocked. Bob and Amy left us coffee, eggs, fruit, and a great selections of condiments and spices to do our own cooking. There was an abundance of towels and washcloths and the wifi worked perfectly,

It's a very short walk to the center of town where there's a good variety of shops and restaurants. We passed some local motels, and while there was noting wrong with them, we knew we chose the better option.

  • Amy was very friendly when she met us at the Hideaway and gave us a little tour and suggestions for dinner. The place itself was perfect - quirky, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for the evening (records, dvds, games, etc), all of which we were encouraged to use. They even left breakfast supplies for us! The garden was lovely as well. Arcata is small (smaller with no college students around) but very pretty, and Amy's dinner suggestion was awesome. Definitely recommend (email hidden) Cat Alley Hideaway!

  • The Black Cat Alley Hideaway is perfect in every way! It's clean, private, has a great bed and a TV that is not rocket science to turn on. The sunlight in the afternoon shines through the front door and is extremely pleasant. Surrounded by a wonderful garden, it's two blocks from the college and you can walk to town. Your hosts Bob and Amy will take terrific care of you. They have great ideas for restaurants and activities in the area. We feel very much at home here on our third visit.

  • Amy is the best friendly and welcoming. This is our second (email hidden) Cat and, as ever, it feels so much like home it's spooky. Amy suggested a great restaurant in town and pointed us in the direction of the farmer's market the next day. Both great suggestions. The place is spotless and the bed is wonderfully soft.. we look forward to a return trip.

  • Bob is an excellent host and Black Cat Alley is in a great location in Arcata. Walking distance from downtown and the redwoods, what more could you ask! The Hideaway is beautifully decorated with cute little details everywhere (a record player!). We really enjoyed our time in Arcata and Bob was even gracious enough to fill the fridge with eggs, juice, fresh fruit and plenty of coffee. Many Thanks!!

  • A very nice place to stay. The owners gave us a warm welcome and very useful tips for spending the time in Arcata and its surroundings.

The Black Cat Alley Hideaway was very comfy and even different varieties of coffee were provided for us to enjoy.

  • Bob and Amy were so great! The place was even better than we thought it would be. It was really spacious with a totally lovely garden, not to mention a great record collection. We loved being able to walk to the city center and Amy absolutely nailed the restaurant recommendations for us. Will totally stay there again next time I'm in Arcata.
