We had a 35 minute early arrival time and Nancy was kind enough to let us drop our belongings. She also allowed us to hitch a ride with her to our first bus stop. Very secluded road was peaceful and had space for lounging on porch or back hammock. She had breakfast prepared in the morning and both her dogs were the friendliest of companions.
Nancy is a lovely hostess. She is friendly, open, and really makes you feel like her home is your home. She and her daughter were happy to offer advice on the island and work out rides. Her house is off a dirt road, as are most in MV. With the woods surrounding you and the birds everywhere you feel as though you are in your own little hideaway. The house itself is really neat - artwork everywhere and really old looking, despite that it is fairly new construction with reused materials. Comfy bed, shower with great water pressure, AC in the room, fruit, English muffins and fresh coffee in the morning, funny dogs and the most beautiful cat. Well recommended!
Nancy was very welcoming and easy to get along with. She has a great sense of humor and we felt right at home with her and her two dogs and beautiful cat. The wooden house is beautifully decorated with antiques. I loved the upstairs bathroom with the old tub and the roman mosaic. The bedroom had a tree-house feel to it with windows overlooking the forest. Nancy provided a very nice breakfast for us every morning and we felt comfortable making tea and sitting on the deck outside anytime. We rented a car and felt her house was very convenient to Vineyard Haven. We liked being away from the summer crowds. Her house is reached by a dirt road that was easily traversed but may be daunting to some who are not used to long dirt roads, but it just added to the adventure for us and after the first time was no problem. As we found with most of Martha’s Vineyard residences, the road to her house is not easy to find the first time and so I would caution people arriving at night as the road is also very dark. Overall we enjoyed our experience and it added a cozy feel to our trip!
Nancy was awesome- even drove us into to town both days. Highly recommended!
Nancy's home was a lovely woodsy getaway from the crowds of the main towns in the city. Nancy, her children, and her pets were all fantastic and generous, and the room was extremely cosy and well stocked. Having a car made it really easy to get to and around the island, and the success of our trip was largely thanks to the expert advice from Nancy. I would certainly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing and relaxed stay on the vineyard! Many thanks to our awesome hosts.
Nancy was wonderfully inviting, the house was really comfortable, and the property was in a beautiful, quaint part of the Vineyard. We didn't spend much time at the house due to wedding activities, but I wish we did. The house has beautiful outdoor seating, an outdoor shower, and a fire pit. Nancy and her son were also willing to drive us to our various wedding events as without a car, it's a bit of a walk to the bus.
This was only our second experience with airbnb and we are so glad we chose to stay at Nancy's! By choosing her home, we had the ability to stay just one night on the Vinyard (most places require two nights) and the price was affordable. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Nancy was very friendly and while she is not in the center of town, she was more than willing to drive us to wherever we wanted to start our days. We chose to not rent a vehicle and taking the bus back to her place was great as well. Highly recommend!
