They were very accommodating and helpful. It was clean.
The apartment itself matches the description. However, the neighborhood is very noisy. People are loud, but that is something that the owners can’t control.
We travel to the DR quite often, and most of the time, we stay in hotels, which are very expensive, since the hospitality offer in Santiago is very limited. This time, we decided to try a furnished apartment because we love to cook and we love to try and drink fine Spanish wines that are typically available in the Dominican Republic.
The owners of this apartment do everything in their power to make sure guests feel comfortable. However, there is a lot of room for improvement if they really wanted to showcase the great hospitality of the Dominican brand. Please allow me to mention just a few things that can be done to improve the overall appeal of this property:
1. Improve the water supply to the main header of the shower. Most of the time the water flow and water pressure are poor.
2. Make sure the kitchen is properly stocked with decent cooking utensils. We needed to buy several small items needed to prepare a fine meal.
We need to recognize the owners because they are bringing up the property, so it can meet the highest standard. There still is, however, a lot to go.
All in order! Secure area!
I stayed at this property and was quite satisfied. Jose, Lynette and Taly have a solid and simple business model. That is, offer a clean, clutter free, comfortable accommodation, with friendly helpful service and if you have a problem, they will fix-it. The apartment was smartly decorated and well presented, and the larger-than-average bedrooms had comfortable queen-sized beds with good quality mattresses, duvets and pillows. The apartment was outfitted with a very fast Wi-Fi connection. Because it was not a shared Wi-Fi connection, I did not have the privacy worry of my internet traffic being part of a group network.
As for my stay, everyone was responsive and I have no negative comments. I will say though that Ms. Taly, the concierge, was awesome and stole the show. When I checked into the apartment, the bottled water had been presumably fully consumed by the previous visitors. As a well-informed Dom. Rep. traveler knows, you do not drink the sink water. When Ms. Taly preemptively saw the absence of water, she went into fix-it mode.
Reaching into the front pocket of her jeans, she whipped out her cell phone and hastily speed-dialed the local grocery store. Fifteen minutes later, I could hear the motorcycle pulling up with the delivery of water and a few other items that I guess Ms. Taly wanted me to have in the apartment. I didn’t have to pay a dime (peso) for anything. She had pre-paid.
A half-hour later, I noticed that the air-condition unit in the bedroom was not working. And I must admit I was a more than a bit concerned about a hot night’s sleep. A call to Ms. Taly fixed that. In less than 20 minutes, she arrived with not one, but two electricians. The problem was a power supply issue and was quickly fixed.
Checkout was quick and easy. I’d happily stay with Jose, Lynette or Ms. Taly again in the future.
Jose and Taly were extremely accommodating, and the apartment felt like you were going to visit a family members home in DR, if you're Dominican you know that is worth alot...I will not hesitate to book with them again.
just spent two weeks in Lynette and jose aprt in Santiago and had a nice stay overthere. Jose actually met us at the aprt with his family and quickly made us feel conftable and safe. The aprt is well located in the town of Santiago and the people in the building made us feel welcome and in security. The aprt is a small 3 bedroom that is really really clean and conftable.
Beautiful and confortable apartment! It has everything you could need and it has a mini market and a farmacy near, so in case you need anything its just minutes away. When I go back to Santiago, I definitely will stay here again :D
Lynette and Jose were extremely accommodating from my very first contact with them. They even arranged for me transportation from the airport which was really convenient since my flight arrived after midnight. They went beyond what was expected.
This is a very nice apartment and the beds were extremely comfortable. This is NOT a tourist location. This is an apartment complex with families. I felt very safe and the place is secure. It was fairly easy to get a taxicab at the entrance of the complex. For a few dollars the cab driver took me to very large and beautiful supermarket close by. They had everything that I needed ... and I do mean everything.
The apartment has cable T.V., air condition in the bedrooom, and wireless service for the internet. You can take a cab to Puerta Plata for about $50 or you can take a very comfortable air conditioned bus for around $4. I took the bus and spent the day at the beach.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Santiago.
