About this listing
Hello and thank you for stopping at my page! My name is Julie and this listing is for my two bedroom apartment nestled in the heart of the East Village. You will be located on a tree lined street, blocks away from the Farmer’s Market and Tompkin Square Park where you can enjoy the quirky life of the neighborhood while relaxing on a bench. You will be within a 5 minutes’ walk to the N/R and F trains that will take you anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens in no time. You will also be walking distance to Soho, the Lower East Side, Union Square and the West Village. My neighborhood is vibrant with artsy people, families, cool restaurants, bars, unique stores and let’s not forget Wholefoods! You'll find this peaceful apartment to be beautiful inside and out - a wonderful place to spend a day relaxing and enjoying the city life.
My place is VERY clean and features brick walls, a marble bathroom, stainless steel appliances (including a microwave), washer/dryer (yes! a rare object in a NYC apartment!). Each bedroom has a queen size bed and plenty of closet space.
I'd love to give you tips on places to eat and help you make the most out of your stay as a real New Yorker :)

Great apartment in a great location - exactly as per the photos and immaculately clean. We had a wonderful stay. Great coffee at Flinders Lane nears Tompkins Park - if you're Australian you will want to head there.
Hola, realmente la experiencia fue fantastica. El apartamento muy limpio y muy bien equipado. El barrio magnifico, con mucha vida . Destaco la calidad de ambas camas .
We had a great time staying in Julie's place. The location was great and everything was as advertised.
Great host, brilliant location in a vibrant and safe neighborhood. Wonderful array of restaurants, cafes, bars, 25 hr. supermarket, and public transport all within a stone's throw.
Would be hard to find a better location in NY.
Julie was a fantastically generous host with communication and understanding our needs - thanks again Julie
Julie's apartment was just as described and a wonderful place to stay! Very comfortable beds, cute decor, very clean, and great location. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a spot in East Village.
Julie is amazingly organised. The two sets of keys were sent by DHL to us in Australia one month before the booking commenced. There were also Australian power conversion sockets waiting for us already plugged in. The apartment is very clean and I wished I owned something like this myself! As for the nitty gritty: the location in East Village is amazing. It is perfect for the young, singles, girls groups, and anyone looking for inspiration. The 2 queen beds are really comfortable and the shower/bath is good. We had 2 elementary aged energetic boys with us...and although the area was ok for them it wasn't great for letting out their energy. We took them to nearby Tompkins Square Park one day to play soccer and it was full of weirdos. The bars and restaurants my husband and I loved they found tiring. They ended up wanting to stay in the apartment for dinner each night (which was ok), while we went downstairs for a meal. On that note, the kitchen is fully equipped, but tiny. It has a big fridge (by Australian standards), 4 burner stove and oven and cute dishwasher. But not much space to prepare anything. You have to be creative. But it was great to have as the kids just wanted a simple meal each night and to watch cable. The street is quite noisy with late night partying nearby, and the curtains are very thin, so bring your eye masks. Its about a 10 minute walk to the subway. We used it every day, and took a different route to get there, to take in the new discoveries. My favourite was St Marks Place. There's a great coffee shop there called Boxkite. It serves very passable lattes. Everything you could want is in East Village, except somewhere for the kids to play. So if you have kids, I'd say look much closer to Central Park. But if you are looking for a lively fun safe-ish kind of place, this is it. Thats not to say there aren't plenty of weirdos and drunks around, because there are, but mostly it seems likes lots of young people out for a fun time. Oh, and its right near a CVS drugstore which is good for basics, as well as lots of corner shops and markets for reasonably priced fruit and fresh food. Oh and wifi was great and easy to use. Also the cable TV, and shower once you worked out how to operate it! Lastly, check out is 10am but if you are wondering what to do with your luggage after that the lovely man in the dry cleaners downstairs will happily mind your luggage for you all day for $10 a piece!
