A lot to love about this neighborhood. The place is a stone's throw away from everything - the trendy restaurants and shops on Abbott Kinney, pretty Marina Del Rey, hip, historic Venice beach, even Costco! And now there's a lot of activity around neighboring Mar Vista as well. Lots of new restaurants and night spots cropping up on Lincoln and Washington boulevards. You won't be lacking for things to do.
Many buses headed in all different directions at most hours of the day. And the neighborhood is well served by cabs and certainly by Uber. Those without a car should have no problem getting around.
Home is shared with homeowner, and there is a tenant that resides in a separate guest house at the back of the property. General consideration in regards to noise and cleanliness apply. Homeowner has dog who resides in the house and the backyard.
this home is beautiful.... lot of space and privacy , super clean ... spencer is a great guy full of respect and he can suggest u a lot of nice restaurant where to go ! his dog is simply a genius !!! in LA a home to go !
Comfortable house in a nice neighborhood. Super convenient location, only a few minute to stores, restaurants and the beach.
Great location and communication! Spencer accepted my last minute request and responded quickly which was great. Venice beach is super close and lots of places in walking distance to the house. Spencer is very friendly and has a really awesome dog too. The bed was reasonable but it is a futon, so keep that in mind. Overall enjoyable stay and lovely visit.
I'm a freelancer and had to go to LA for a month for work. I stayed at Spencer's place and it was great! It was a perfect location, near supermarkets, convenience stores, good places to eat and most importantly, the beach. Spencer is a great host and his dog, Mijo, is adorable and playful.
I'd recommend staying here if you want to be near the beaches but far from the chaos of the touristy side of Venice Beach.
I want to write Spencer a glowing review but I will keep this short and too the point, stay with him. An excellent host and the room is exactly as described. Couldn't ask for a more centrally located place. It's been a great stay.
Spencer is the perfect AirBnb host - Friendly and helpful, but also respectful of your privacy. His home is clean and his dog is one of the coolest pets I've met. If you're looking for a nice, quite and fun stay in the Venice area, I would highly recommend checking out this awesome house :)
Spencer -with his plasent personality- is a wonderful host, he would make you feel very welcome in his comfortable house. If you enjoy dogs this is a perfect place, his dog is adorable, very friendly and charming. I had a great experience on my stayed at his house, as a girl, I felt pretty safe staying there.

I'm a long-time Venice resident. I'm a traveller myself and have been the benificiary of incredible hospitality in the many places I've had the good fortune of visiting, so I'm only too happy to share whatever local wisdom I have with you. In my opinion, the Zanja Shangri-La provides the best of both worlds for the visitor - relative privacy and respite from the hustle and bustle of Venice/Santa Monica proper, but close enough to the beach and all the other fun stuff.
