Lazy Bear Cabin is nestled in the scenic Cook Forest State Park, offering a perfect escape for those looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Known for its cozy atmosphere and charming rustic decor, this cabin is an ideal spot for a peaceful getaway. Located near several popular hiking trails, guests can easily explore the old-growth forests and scenic landscapes of Cook Forest.

The space
Cook Forest State Park is known for its beautiful scenery and outdoor activities. Staying in a cozy cabin with modern amenities like a full kitchen and comfortable living room help provide the balance between comfort and enjoying the outdoors. Being just two miles from canoeing, kayaking, hunting, tubing, hiking, and fishing adds to the appeal, making it easy to enjoy outdoor activities. We are also 17 miles from Marienville atv trails. Whether you're looking to relax or explore, this cabin is a perfect base for your vacation.

The space

Please note that this is a small cabin and is appropriate for a maximum of 7 guests, 6 guests would be more comfortable.

INDOOR SPACE: Modern interior with open vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. With a TV, comfortable couch, WiFi, and board games, you have plenty of entertainment options for downtime. It's a great way to balance the outdoor activities with some indoor leisure time.
The WiFi and service is generally very good, but cannot be 100% guaranteed due to storms and downed trees.

OUTDOOR SURROUNDINGS: Forested landscape with a private picnic table & fire pit, hammock, charcoal grill. There is a cabin that can be seen on each side of this one.

KITCHEN: Includes drip coffeemaker, mugs, plates, bowls, cups, eating utensils, and necessary cooking utensils.

GENERAL: Linens & towels are provided along with basic hand soap.

PARKING: Gravel driveway

Important to note:
Must climb a smaller set of steps to get to the two twin beds in the loft. The steps do have one handrail.

If visiting in winter, best to have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. The road is plowed when there is snow.

We are family oriented and do not allow parties.

Pets are welcome, but pets should be leashed while outside to protect wildlife and neighbors. Additionally, if left inside alone, pets should be crated to avoid potential property damage. We do have a crate that can be set up before your arrival.

This property has 1 exterior security camera overlooking the front of the house. Camera is disarmed at guest check in, and then turned back on at checkout.

Guest access
Please do not block the neighbors driveway when parking.

Guests should have an AWD or 4WD vehicle to access the property during snow season.

Guests have access to entire cabin and backyard. The property is 0.5 acre. The shed out back is kept locked and is not for guest use.

Other things to note
Bedding, towels, dishes, pot, pans, and utensils are all provided.

We have drinkable well water at the property but if you don't like the taste of well water, you'll probably want to bring bottles of water for drinking.

If bringing a dog, please be aware that failing to follow the established rules or leaving an excessive amount of pet hair will result in an additional cleaning fee. This fee will vary based on the time required to properly clean the space.

Dogs must be 30lbs or less.

Please bring your own comfortable lawn chairs. There are benches at the firepit and benches for the outdoor table.

Please do not block the neighbors driveway when parking. 4 vehicles will fit in our parking area.

Must be able to climb steps to get to twin beds in the loft.
