Our tasteful and comfortable apartment for two has everything you need on foot in the city centre - retail, culture, restaurants and entertainment within minutes and yet in a quiet traffic free location. Enjoy easy access, 10 minutes walking to beautiful scenery, river walks and theatre and return to a relaxing, modernised apartment.

The space

The apartment is in Inverness city centre on a recently upgraded traffic free street, called Stephens Brae.

From the freshly decorated communal hallway, this private apartment has large south facing, sunny, double windows, which enjoy views across the city centre roof tops and church spires to the hills beyond. This is a cosy and very comfortable apartment which has been renovated to a high standard and provides everything you need.

The accommodation is situated on the first floor of a traditional scottish 'tenement' building and is accessed via a secure communal entrance which has just been recently decorated throughout.

This is the perfect base for 2 people but not really suitable for toddlers or very young children. We do however provide a travel cot for a baby.

With easy access to the stunning Highlands of Scotland and yet Cafe's Restaurant's and Shops a minutes walk away, this unique location is a great place to stay and explore Inverness and the Highlands, with bus and train links only a 5 minute walk.

The apartment is a a very short walk away from many restaurants, cafes and shops including Marks and Spencers Food Hall and in the other direction, a great Deli.

The River Ness is a 5 to 10 minute walk away, and is lovely for an evening stroll or to catch a movie or show at Eden Court Theatre and Cinema.
A number of venues offer contemporary and traditional music throughout the week with special concerts organised during the summer months.

Guest access

Access to the apartment and all amenities are solely for the use of our guests and includes, double bedroom, bathroom and compact but well equipped kitchen opening onto the living/dining area.

Interaction with guests

We will meet our guests on arrival to provide keys and information about the flat. We live about 1 mile away so we are on hand if required.

Once your booking has been confirmed, you will be able to access our 'manual' which provides information about where to eat, visit and other helpful information. It will also be emailed to you nearer the date of your visit. Detailed directions to Brae Apartment will be provided.

There are other apartments in the block, so please be respectful about noise after 10 pm. For security and insurance purposes please double lock the apartment door and ensure windows are shut when out. Strictly non smoking and if you can avoid cooking food with strong smells too please. When we visited Malaysia recently we were impressed by the way outdoor shoes were left at the entrance door; so we encourage you to leave your shoes at the entrance please.

Very clean, tidy and organized! The hosts gave great directions, this place is very central and walkable. Great restaurants 2 minutes away. Would highly recommend!

Nice flat in a great location, easy walking distance to everything you would want in the city center. We found nearby parking relatively easily (especially with directions from Alison and John), so bringing a car was no problem. The flat is on a popular walking route out of the city center, so you may hear people outside at night, but that didn't bother us much. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a good location, right in the center of Inverness with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The flat is up one flight of easy stairs, but there's no light in the hallway so at night use the light on your phone. The lack of dedicated parking would be a problem if you have a car and don't intend to use it during the day, but if you're heading out to see the sights it should not be a problem. We found overnight parking at the top of the hill.

Thank you Nigel for your feedback. There is automatic lighting in the hall way in the evening and throughout the night but it is possible that the bulb requires to be replaced which we will attend to the immediately. Each flat also has a dedicated landing light with a switch operated from within the flat. Glad you found parking overnight easily.

Apartment is in a very good central location with car parking that is not too far. Comfortable, quiet, and well outfitted apartment. Within a few minutes walk of the castle and many restaurants. We delighted in seeing a highland group with about 6 bagpipers and dancers just down the hill our first night. We used Alison and Johns place as a base to explore north and surrounding small towns. We loved it!

Apartment is spacious, bright and clean. Is was super centrally localized - close to shops, restaurants, the castle and River Ness, and the train station. John's instructions were extremely thorough and we had a seamless stay. We would highly recommend and return!

John was the perfect host. Check-in was easy and he was available to us when we needed him, even though he was on holiday himself!! The flat was as described and exceeded our expectations. I'd definitely stay there again! Inverness is a lovely town and staying at John's flat made it even better.
