Welcome home! We do all we can to make your stay the very best. From luxury bedding to laundry, lunch-to-go, meals, bars and insider tips to guide you through NYC. Just let us know about any interests and special requirements!
Cook and help yourself to goodies in the cupboards and don't worry about washing it up! There is a dishwasher.
This is our apartment, we live here and we keep it absolutely real. You should expect to find a warm welcome and a place exactly as pictured or better. The space has great personality and some great features.
The room is large, airy, the bed is super comfy. Since you will mostly only be sleeping here it is INDULGENT! It is best for chilling out. It has gaming options and a 42-inch TV too!
We have AIR BEDS/INFLATABLE MATTRESSES for anyone who can't fit in the pictured main bed (usually two)!
You have full access to the apartment which is PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED regularly. We tidy up the apt/ensure supplies are plentiful in the bathroom, kitchen etc!
ONE OF US WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND to guide you if you need help. My name is Shaun. I am British, in my twenties, gay, mixed race, a foodie and work in ARTS and CULTURE so if any of that grabs your attention I can definitely help you navigate NYC's tangled web of highlights.
Adam is American, straight, in the medical field, has worked as a restaurant server and has savvy tips for everything.
There is an apartment dog so if you have allergies be aware. This will not interfere with your stay; we walk the dog etc.
The SUBWAY STATION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER and there is no noise pollution. We get the J train; one of the cities most reliable trains. It goes into Manhattan, LES (Lower East Side), East Village, Chinatown and Financial District. I goes direct to JFK too (PLUS - you are more likely to score a seat/it's overground so you can keep using your phone/seamless connection the the M Train...and the F a bit further on/breathtaking ride over the Williamsburg bridge/express service) always inspires me on the way to work especially on a nice day.
Bushwick is full of hip folk, families, clean, safe, busy and full of local shops/restaurants, recommended brunches, cool bars and even yoga studios.

Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you like. If you want to feel like you have the apartment all to yourself we will work to make that happen or if you wanna get dinner and join us on a night out you are very welcome!
I love the nearby subway (7th best out of 21 in the city according to buzzfeed) I love the supermarkets and all the local conveniences. there are bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away from NorthEast Kingdom, awesome bars on Troutman Street or the world famous Roberta's Pizza.
This is Bushwick in Brooklyn so genuine, grassroots NYC experiences are aplenty but at the same time surrounded by the city's cool and hip centres like Williamsburg.
Access to Queens is surprisingly easy too if you fancy the film museum, PS1 or anything in the most multicultural borough.
If you can't get to the train from the apartment in 2mins you must be doing something wrong.
Other Things to Note
We have a herb garden in the summer, bake frequently if you fancy a snack. We make mean cocktails and have a regular stock of great wine, beers and spirits if you like a drink.
Don't be crazy! Do not take advantage of our hospitality! Keep the bathroom door closed so the dog doesn't go in. Draw the screen so insects don't come in from the balcony. Help yourself to food and drink but be reasonable and replace if it is appropriate e.g. if you drank all the unopened vodka, gin and rum on offer it would be super to replace or make a contribution to the alcohol fund?
Shaun could not have been more welcoming. Gave me lots of good info to help me enjoy my stay in NYC. Flat is warm and the guest room is very comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay there. Neighbourhood is interesting too and it was super easy to get into Manhattan and Williamsburg.
Staying with Shaun was an absolute blast. The apartment is exactly as presented. Very comfy, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the large bathtub is relaxing after a long day walking through NYC. The location is very convenient, and we felt safe in the neighborhood. The only suggestion I have is to pay attention to road signs if you are driving there. We accidentally parked on the wrong side during street cleaning which resulted in a parking ticket.
As a host, Shaun made us feel very welcome. As soon as we arrived, he asked what he could do to make us more comfortable after a long day of driving. He is also very helpful if you want to learn what it is like to live in the city. Overall, he has a great personality which made staying there just that much better. Also, the dog Charlie is extremely sweet.
I would highly recommend staying at Shaun's lovely apartment.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Shaun made me feel extremely welcoming, generous and friendly!
The flat is indeed cosy, which is great as New York gets very cold, the bed was extremely comfortable and the flat is on a quiet road so it was easy to sleep well. Shaun and Elon were setting up for christmas while I stayed and it was really nice to be part of the hustle and bustle of their lives and Charlie the dog is a real cutie, super friendly and sweet.
One thing I'd say is if you don't know New York very well then you should know that this flat is in a very urban area, and it takes a good 20 minutes on the subway to get into Manhatten. I'm from a big city so I enjoyed looking around and I never felt unsafe but it isn't all green spaces, definitely inner city living!
great host and really enthusiastic to us. love his dog Charles. a really cute doggy. we really enjoy the time we stay in Shaun's room.
Shaun's apartment is just as cute as it looks in the pictures and Shaun is such a gracious and welcoming host. He even made delicious dinner for me- twice! I really loved staying with him. The apartment is an easy walk to the station and although the neighbourhood is not gentrified yet, I never felt unsafe and people were very helpful and friendly to this clueless tourist!

I am a cheery brit who works for an artists' non profit.
I moved to NYC in 2010 and haven't moved out of my first apartment because I love it.
I couldn't live without moments of inspiration, companionship, food, art and sharing, More specific example of my sources of joy...All About Eve, a good curry, Yves Klein's blue, and the atmosphere in Marie's Crisis. I am jogging a bit more these days... or trying to.
