1 bedroom available in a 2 bedroom flat. Super comfy bed, dresser, closet, window, sun. simple, cozy. Apartment is shared with a chill couple and a cat. Awesome neighborhood, central to everything the city has to offer, from golden gate park and the beach, to downtown. We are located in a transportation hub, so there are buses, and MUNI trains that will take you literally everywhere, within a few blocks. Cafes, laundromats, shops, food and bars less then a block away, and at the same time on a pretty quiet street. Our place is not sleek and modern, but it is cute and cozy in a 1950's architecture , boxy, urban cottage type way...its spacious, comfortable, clean and funky.
We have a blender, a coffee maker, a toaster oven, a microwave, and a 6 burner stove, but our oven doesn't work so no serious baking here! We tend to keep it pretty low key at home but we are super friendly and will be happy to share any SF knowledge we have picked up in our years in this fine city, and send you in the right direction. We like to watch movies, read, sometimes DJ or make art, occassionally cook, and you might even catch us going to a fun show or party once in awhile...our cat sometimes likes to snuggle with strangers, so if you like cats thats good, but otherwise you can shut the door to your room and obviously he'll stay out. Thats all for now! Thanks for looking!
In your request it is helpful if you tell us a little about yourself and your schedule.
*p.s. no smoking cigarettes in house, but there is a back patio off the kitchen.
*pets may be allowed on case by case basis.
A mixture of restaurants, small nightclubs, cafes, drinking establishments, residences, galleries, and hair salons. The Lower Haight differs from Upper Haight by having a more diverse population and a smaller number of retail businesses. The geography lends itself to the most efficient bicycle routing from the Mission District towards Golden Gate Park and surrounding neighborhoods, and the popular bicycle route termed The Wiggle zig zags through this neighborhood.
Yes! Pound for pound the Lower Haight is one of, if not the most convenient places to start exploring the city in any direction. Surrounded by excellent transportation.

Kelly and Mike were out of town during my weekend stay, and Kelly was very communicative, both through airbnb and by phone. She answered all of my questions and made sure that I felt comfortable. Benny the cat was great company! I enjoyed my brief conversation with Mike the night before I left, and wished I had had the opportunity to spend more time with Kelly and Mike. Overall, my weekend stay was nice. Great night life nearby, too.
Kelly and Mike are sweethearts, and the room is awesome. It's a perfect size, the bed is super comfy, the kitty is adorable, and the location is central to everything, with tons of bars and restaurants within 2 blocks. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Kelly and Mike were beyond accommodating! My room was warm and welcoming - along with their friendly feline, Benny. I would definitely recommend their place to anyone looking for a safe and fun place in lower haight (that is less than 5 minutes from the muni line).
Hi Melanie, Thanks for the kind words and for being a great guest. I knew it as I was doing it , but wish I hadn't written my review from my phone at , like 2 in the morning or I would have been more eloquent in my praise!!! lol. Anyway if you end up staying in SF I look forward to running in to you and if you end up in LA I'll look you up for airbnb and /or city tips next time we visit!
Kelly and Mike were great hosts and it was very nice staying with the two of them in Lower Haight - its also in a great location and very comfortable room. 15-20min from MUNI/Bart on Market.
Mike and Kelly were awesome hosts! The room was pretty big with plenty of closet space and a comfy bed. The apartment is in a great location too. Just a short walk to get food from one of the many great eateries in the area and a quick stumble back after getting sloshed at Toronado.
You won't be disappointed!
Mike and Kelly are brilliant - really friendy, very forthcoming with tips and really flexible. I arrived late on a Friday after a stressful time getting to SF and then trying to park - they gave me a beer and a slice of pizza and all was right with the world.
The photos don't do the flat justice - it is so lovely and the bed is really comfortable, It's cozy and spacious. I slept amazing.
You're really close to Haight but it's also quiet and relaxing - so much to do in the area I barely left. Good bus links though if you do - down into the city centre, or up to Haight-Ashbury or over to Golden Gate Park.
Would definitely stay here again if I come back to SF - great apartment and great hosts!
I so enjoyed staying with Kelly. She's very friendly and made me feel right at home. I loved how when I got into my room, everything was set up: a welcome note with the internet password, a list of local cafes, laundromat, house rules, etc., and a stack of fresh towels. Plenty of space in closet and drawers for my clothes, as well as dedicated space in the fridge and cupboards with my food.
The apartment is beautiful and colorful, the bed super comfy, the neighborhood vibrant with everything you could possibly ever need or want. I highly recommend staying here!
