Welcome To My Home!
Wow! Can you believe it? That beach you see in the picture above is just 150 metres from my home.
That’s right. It’s not a postcard or a stock image from some tropical island. That’s my beach! And if you stay at my place, it can be your beach – at least for the duration of your stay.
I live in a beautiful, contemporary home in the seaside suburb of Clifton Beach, Cairns. My street is whisper quiet except for the sound of numerous native Australian birds, and just minute’s stroll from Clifton Beach (yep, the same one in the photo). It’s a very secure, prestigious, upmarket neighborhood. And it’s all just 40 minutes drive to Port Douglas and 30 minutes to Kuranda Village.
The lifestyle here is tranquil, relaxed and rejuvenating, nourishing your soul. You will experience this first hand when you stay with me.
If you do choose to stay with me, included in your accommodation is a large private room, queen bed, your own spacious bathroom, bath and separate toilet.
Facilities include high-speed wireless ADSL 2 throughout the home, along with a BOSE 5.1 home theatre system with 50 inch wide screen television. You can download any movie on iTunes through Apple TV if you feel like staying in for a night.
I have two rooms available. One is a twin room with 2 single beds and the other is a double with a queen bed. The price shown is for two people for one bedroom. All up, I can accommodate four guests. You can view my double room via https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/535571
I am more than happy to provide airport transfers if you need it. I am also happy to give you information on how to get the most out of exploring the region from a local perspective, so you can avoid tourist traps and take advantage of our local “secrets”.
Things To Do And See…Just A Walk Away.
About 25 minutes to the North is Palm Cove, one of the most beautiful suburbs of Cairns. There are more than 20 restaurants along the paved street across from palm trees lining the beach’s edge. Eateries range from a choice of five-star gourmet experiences to take away fish and chips.
The new, modern Clifton Village Shopping Centre with Coles Supermarket, Australia Post, Banks, Medical Centre, Pharmacy and other specialty stores is even closer (see photo).
Cairns Night Zoo is also just a walk away. It’s a world-class attraction featuring Australian native animals, including crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas, snakes and other animals. See website for more details.
Port Douglas (see photo) is 40 minutes drive north along one of Australia’s most famous drives (see photo). The road winds along the coastline with magnificent, breathtaking views of the Coral Ocean along the way.
Pristine Cape Tribulation is 120 minutes away to the north. Here, the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. This is the only place in the world where two world heritage sites come together. There are numerous free rainforest walks in Cape Tribulation.
Kuranda Village and Barron Falls (see photo) are just 30 minutes drive to the west of Clifton Beach. Kuranda is a boutique village with genuine Australian arts and crafts, cafes and restaurants, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
There are many other attractions within just a few minutes drive. These include AJ Hackett Bungy Jumping, Trinity Beach restaurants, Skyrail, Tjapukai Aboriginal Centre, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, Rex Lookout, James Cook University (JCU), Lake Placid, Copperlode Dam and Barron Gorge, just to name a few.
Sunbus (public transport) into the city can be caught along the Arlington Esplanade, which is a few minutes walk from home.
Clifton Beach has BBQ’s, children’s playground and lifeguard beach petrol on duty.
There are cycle paths between the beach suburbs and a major shopping complex just 10 minutes drive away.
Come and enjoy one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
My aim is to ensure that you get the most from your holiday and leave with unforgettable memories.
Warmest wishes and safe travels,
Sen was a great host! Friendly and hospitable with lots of local knowledge. Sen really goes out of his way to make you feel welcome- during my stay I was invited to dinner on the beach with friends+ was able to use the pool close to his work.
Was really helpful with getting around by picking me up and dropping me off at the airport.
Lovely home in a quiet neighbourhood, close to shops and just a short distance from the beach :) Also clean, tidy and welcoming.
Would def recommend to anyone looking for great accommodation around Cairns.
Sen it will not just be a perfect host during your stay, but also a great friend! During our stay he showed us many nice places we would never have discovered just as tourists, came with us to the great barrier reef, and introduced us to some of his very nice friends such as Roberto and his family. With him we totally felt at home, and at the same time we had our freedom to discover the area. Super recommended to anyone! P.S. Sen...come visit us in Melbourne!
A block from a very nice beach and walking distance to the cairns zoo. . Sen was kind enough to both pick me up and drop me off at the airport. He was full of tips and ideas for things to do in his area and even took the time to take us out exploring the beaches and rainforest and the reef. Not much nightlife in the immediate Clifton Beach area, but there was a bus stop a short walk away and the public transportation in Cairns was easy to navigate and Palm Cove is within walking distance. It also meant that it was a quiet peaceful neighborhood which is nice at bedtime. I stayed in the twin room, just know that that room has a shared bath, which didn't bother me. The other larger room listed has an ensuite if that is important to you. Also bedroom doors locked from the outside not the inside, which is a little strange but I felt very safe and secure there due to the hospitality of the host. Sen is an amazing cook and invited us to dinner parties he had for his friends, and made a Sri Lankan fish curry on my last evening there that was to die for!
