•••ABOUT THE APARTMENT
My apartment is a cute, cozy, and typical home of a young Austinite. I've furnished it with mostly repurposed and found items, so it's a truly green living space, if a little shabby. It's a small apartment, but has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and full bathroom. The bedroom has a red king size pillow-top bed, and the sofa is a comfy sectional with two pull-out recliners (but it's an ugly sofa). If you utilize the recliners, the couch can uncomfortably sleep two people, making the apartment good for four people to rent.
I have a flat screen TV with with hundreds of DVDs to choose from, as well as a Super Nintendo, an N64, and a Gamecube if you like feeling nostalgic. There are lots of places to use internet right around the corner.
I can also offer a full guide (from a born-and-raised local's perspective) of fun things to do and cool restaurants and bars to check out.
Small to medium pets are usually welcome here. If you're planning on bringing an animal, please let me know before booking your reservation.
A dog and a cat live here, so it is not a good rental if you're allergic. The dog will not be on the property during your rental, but the cat will. He is an indoor/outdoor cat, with food and bathroom outside. He has a cat door so that he can come inside to safety whenever he pleases. He is sweet and affectionate to people and tolerant to dogs.
Please note that when this apartment is not being rented out, it is my home. I do keep it very clean, but it looks lived in and no matter how much I sweep you will find some dog hair.
•••ABOUT THE LOCATION
My home is located in a small apartment complex on E Cesar Chavez about a mile and a half east of the highway. I'll warn you, the complex is pretty ugly from the outside, but is awesome on the inside, and in the best location ever. It's within walking distance of the East 6th Street bars and a number of delicious restaurants, including some vegan spots, divey Mexican restaurants, a hippie Brazilian cafe, and a number of food trailers. There are art galleries, yoga studios, and lots of places to use internet right around the corner. It's located two blocks from Lady Bird Lake and the entrance to the hike and bike trail, and about a half a mile from the entrance to the Secret Beach hiking trail and an awesome disc golf course. Within a two block radius there are at least five bus lines, and the metro rail less than a mile away. The neighborhood is considered a growing and super hip part of town.
Audrey's place was clean and cozy, there was some pet hair on the sofa, but we just draped a blanket over it and didn't think twice about it. We had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was awesome! She had four different gaming systems that my husband and I enjoyed playing and quite a few movies and games available too. Audrey had a binder with useful info for us, with places to eat, things to do, etc. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Audrey's place was very cozy experience. Filled with interesting details and a good selection of movies, books, and games. Go explore for yourselves.
Audrey was a very responsive and helpful host. She provided a list of recommendations for restaurants, bars, and things to do. She's about a mile walk from dirty six street which is extremely do able when your stumbling home from a night of debauchery. Her apartment was more than large enough for my friend and I. Definitely recommend her place for anyone whose's looking to have a large space for a fair price.
Audrey's place was very cozy and comfortable, and she was very friendly and easy to communicate with. It was very obvious she put a lot of care and work into renovating her place-- it really shows! As an Austin native, she had a great guide to the must-go places in the city. The location of this place is unbeatable-- close to everything, and right in the heart of the city. Highly recommend!
Audrey has the cutest little place in a great location. The building might not be the swankiest, but we always felt very safe. She was a fantastic host, always easy to get a hold of, and I would recommend her and her home to anybody!
Audrey was a great host. She was easy to get in touch with after we landed and very informative about any questions we had. The place was exactly as advertised and Audrey made us feel right at home. I was with my friends and since we were all girls, we never walked downtown because of the distance and the surrounding neighborhood. However, it was fairly easy to get buses or cabs. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Audrey as a host.
Audrey was an incredible host! She was beyond accommodating with us and our chaos. Her place was very clean and cozy with plenty of street parking available.
Great place, everything worked out perfectly. Audrey was very responsive and flexible about picking up the key, etc.
Audrey was great, very accommodating and flexible. Thanks.
The place is really close to SoCo, Rainey & Driscoll, Town Lake and UT. Cool place.
Audrey's place is convenient to just about everywhere north of the river and not a bad bike ride to anywhere else. Audrey is a truly enthusiastic host and she knows the city inside and out -- her suggestions were always perfect. She really went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of, and I would be happy to stay with her again.
