Hi! My husband and I have a lovely 2000 sq. ft. home in the Southwest part of Las Vegas. We have 2 guest bedrooms to offer you as a quiet retreat for your Vegas getaway. One room can comfortably accommodate 2 guests in a queen size bed while our newly renovated second room is a private living/lounging area with sofa bed that folds out on the floor to sleep 1 adult. Both of these private rooms are yours for the price of one. You will also have a private bath complete with shower/tub.
Your room has a TV with Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Network channels.
Our community is minutes from the 215 freeway which ensures speedy transit to anywhere around town with the strip being a quick 10 minute drive and downtown about 15-20 minutes. We have both lived in Vegas our entire lives and can offer up recommendations on what to do on and off the strip. Unfortunately, Las Vegas does not have a great mass transit system, so having a vehicle is a must but luckily we have a space in our driveway for your vehicle.
Pet Alert: we do have two Yorkies. We try to keep them quiet but they are dogs and occasionally will bark.
Our home is in a community with a pool/spa which you are welcome to use for day time lounging or a late night soak.
Here are some approximate driving times to some main attractions in the area:
Wet n Wild Water Park - 1 mi - 5 mins
Rhodes Ranch Golf Club - 3 mi - 5 mins
Town Square Shopping - 8 mi - 10 minutes
McCarran Airport - 11 mi - 12 minutes
TPC Golf Club - 13 mi - 15 mins
Las Vegas Strip South (Tropicana, New York, New York, Excalibur) - 15 mins
Sands Expo & Convention Center - 12 mi - 16 Minutes
The Smith Center of Performing Arts - 15 mi - 20 mins
Downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) - 15 mi - 20 mins
Red Rock Canyon (Scenic Loop) - 15 mi - 20 mins
Hoover Dam - 38 miles - 50 mins
We had to be in Las Vegas just for one night for a memorial service. Staying in this comfortable, quiet room was just what we needed. We brought towels but our thoughtful hosts provided those. Everything was super clean and well thought out. There was even a separate little sitting room but alas we didn't really have time to sit and enjoy that. We could have stayed longer had we planned better. Next time!
Shelly and Cody were wonderful hosts. Their home is spacious, bright and comfortable. The outdoor space is great for a morning or evening "cupa" or glass of wine. The big old rocker in the bedroom is comfy for a reading chair!
Roca and Gus, their 2 small dogs are good company. Roca, the "youngster" is a little more energetic. Gus, the "elder" is a little more sedate. But both are so well behaved they are good company.
Gus spent some "cuddle time" with me while I was reading or getting ready for the day.
Shelly and Cody shared of themselves as well as their home.
Dinner time was a nice time to get to know each other a little.
They were avaliable while not being intrusive...just what I needed.
I'm sure I will return to Las Vegas, I've been a number of times in the past. Next visit I will be hoping to have space with Shelly and Cody! And they are certainly welcome in my home if they find themselves traveling my way in Texas!
I ended up getting to Las Vegas very late, but Shelly and Cody were extremely accommodating of my late check-in, setting everything up for my arrival. The room was very spacious and clean, and ended up being more room than I needed. I would have loved to stay longer in their space.
I loved this place. So clean and fresh and comfortable. They have a beautiful home and our room was adorable. Shelly and Cody were very easy to talk to and made us feel immediately at home. Slept great and wished we could stayed longer. Talked their ears off in the morning. Sorry guys. We had just arrived and a little hyper from the excitement of being on a getaway. One of our favorite things we did on this trip was eat at Nora's which Cody told us was an excellent place to eat. Food was amazing! If I would have had time I would have gone again. Thanks for everything. Hope we can stay with you again next time.
We stayed one night at Shelly and Cody's marvelous house. Well located in Las Vegas, the rooms are warm, cosy, and the hosts were very friendly and helpfull. If we could turn back time, we would stay longer in order to enjoy the place and chat more with them! We definitively recommend Shelly and Cody as host!
Our stay with Shelly and Cody was wonderful!
The house is big, bright and welcoming, in a safe and quiet neighborhood but still very close to the Strip. Their 2 little dogs are adorable and well behaved, our son loved to play with them!
We will strongly recommend this place. Thank you!
Thanks for hosting me. Had a very comfortable stay. And thanks for sharing dinner as well. Wish I had more energy to chat :).
Shelly & Cody are very nice to share their house with us, where staying comfortable and convenient to go shopping and eating nearby. And their doggys are lovely and became my son's friends soon. It's a little pity that we stayed too short time to chat with them. I would revisit them given another chance and welcome them to go to my hometown.
Shelly was great! She checked in on us before, during, and after the stay and was very hospitable. I loved their place for its accessibility (only 10-15 minute drive from the strip), cleanliness, and home-feel. It was kind of nice to get away from the strip which can be noisy, smokey, and too bright. I would stay at Shelly & Cody's again next time I'm in Las Vegas.
We spent four nights at Shelly and Cody's, and we had a wonderful time. Their house is cozy, clean and they provided everything we needed. The beds were comfy, and a hot bath after a day of climbing was bliss! I am generally not a big fan of dogs, but I could not help adoring Roca and Gus! Shelly and Cody's house is ideally situated for an active holiday at Red Rocks, especially because the neighborhood is nice and quiet, so if you value a good night of sleep for another day at the rocks, this is a great place! Added bonus: superb coffee machine!
