Welcome to The Library, a quiet, eclectic haven in the heart of the city. After an exciting day around town, come home to a warm and inviting space where you can relax in my grandfather's designer armchair, read a book, listen to some vinyl, and sip some BlueBottle coffee.

Enjoy the studio all to yourself. It's located in the most convenient neighborhood in the city, the Lower Haight, where you can find restaurants, shops, cafes, parks, and public transportation (the subway is three blocks away). The Painted Ladies, which is the quintessential SF landmark, is right around the corner in Alamo Square and Golden Gate Park is a ten minute walk down a pretty residential neighborhood.

The rental offers a selection of San Francisco guide books and maps; complementary tea, coffee, and snacks; and you are welcome to use the kitchen and its amenities as you like.

I'm nearby if you need anything and if you're interested, I'm happy to offer an intro to the city, otherwise, enjoy the privacy of your own space.

The Lower Haight is hip, friendly and safe. Lots of awesome shops abound, great restaurants and fun bars. All within easy walking distance.

  • There are so many wonderful things to say about Jacob's oasis. First of all, the bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were clean with lots of plants giving the whole apartment a fresh feel. There were fresh flowers too which was really sweet. It felt like i was staying at a friends house. Jacob was accommadating and quick to respond when I had questions about the city and was all in all a positive and delightful person to interact with! The location was perfect for me and my one year old, with lots of public transportation near by and plenty of walkable destinations. HIghly recommend!

  • We loved staying at Jacob´s place! Jacob has been very kind to us when we arrived, and took time to explain and show us everything. His apartment is perfectly located if you want to focus on the most vibrant places in San Francisco: close to Mission, Castro, Haight... And is ideal if you like arts, books, and music (very nice collection of vinyl records!)

  • We absolutely loved staying at Jacob's cozy and perfectly located apartment! It's an ideal size for two guests and he had a great amount of maps and books to maximize our enjoyment during our stay! There was a huge selection of records and books, a perfect setting to disconnect from technology and just relax! We will definitely be booking this place during our next trip up North! Overall, an awesome host and fantastic place!

  • We loved staying at Jacob's place. It's in one of our favorite San Francisco neighborhoods. It's a perfect size for two people, cozy with a lot of personality, and 'the library' is very aptly named. Jacob was a very sweet and helpful host and really tried to make sure we had a great time.

  • We had a great stay at Jacob's place. The appartment is well situated: we explored Hayes Valley, the Haight, Mission and Castro by foot. There is convenient public transport to go downtown. Jacob was really nice and gave me suggestions of where to go in the area. The appartment was clean and the bed really confortable. I would definitely stay at this place again if ever I go back to SF!

  • Jacob was a fantastic host, leaving me muffins from a local cafe and beers in the fridge. I was visiting town on an apartment hunting trip, and he also offered me great tips and answered my questions about finding a place in San Francisco. I would definitely recommend him as a host to anyone, and would stay at The Library again!

About
I'm a graphic designer and musician and have lived in this great city for over a decade. My friends tell me I'm the best SF tour guide – I love showing people my favorite off-the-beaten-path places to eat, grab a drink, or take in some nature. I love my home – it is an eclectic and quiet haven in the heart of the city and I have a pretty impressive collection of books and vinyl which I welcome my guests to enjoy during their stay.
