Francesca made us feel welcome immediately. We had a lovely room with sea view and private bath. We also had our own entrance which provided privacy. I would recommend these accommodations to all. Vernazza is truly the gem of Cinque Terre!
The place is easy to find from the train station and makes for a great home base when exploring the towns of cinque terre
We had a wonderful stay in their room. After seeing all the towns in the area we were very glad we picked Francesca's room. The perfect place to come home after exploring the area.
Francesca was at her wine shop at Via Roma as promised. She greeted us warmly, arranged for her mother to watch the store, then guided us up the stairs to the apartment. The climb was challenging with luggage, but in the next few days it was just the way home. The apartment was as advertised, sea view of the Ligurian Sea, with well appointed bath and comfortable bed. Francesca recommended restaurants, helped us select some tasty and reasonably priced wines from her store, and provided fresh towels on the second night. We also got to meet her husband, who was also warm and friendly. A nice little room in Vernazza. Grazie, Francesca!
We loved staying in Francesca's apartment in Vernazza! The studio is small but quite comfortable for two people and has everything you need, including a big, comfortable bed. Highly recommend ditching the suitcase for a backpack to help navigate the steps up the apartment but if you plan of hiking, you need to get used to walking uphill anyway.
Easy to find the wine shop (reception) where Francesca's husband assisted with carrying bags to the room. Lots of stairs! However, this is typical of Vernazza and you get used to it. There is actually a back way via the road into town which is mostly ramp, with only a few stairs. Far better option. Room was as described - small, but tidy, with a great (website hidden) not that useful unless you speak Italian, couldn't find any English stations. Tea/coffee making facilities were adequate, but not topped up daily so quickly ran out of tea bags. Room was tidied each day. Not a lot of information was provided about activities in the town, but hosts were very helpful whenever we had question. Anasassa Bar on the foreshore was recommended for coffee and croissants - great place.
We had a fantastic time in Vernazza. Francesca's was very comfortable, spotlessly clean with a fantastic view. Her husband Franco also very generously carried my suitcase up the steep stairs to their house (warning, aim to pack light if you can!). We struggled slightly without WiFi (however we knew we wouldn't have it in the room) and the only thing that may have improved our experience was a bit of information in the room to help us get started in our explorations, as we felt slightly bad knocking on the door of their family home and interrupting dinner preparations! Thank you Francesca and Franco xx
