The Space

This remodeled 1 BR apt. is very near UCSF and 3 blocks from Golden Gate Park. It is a private apartment (approx 750 square feet) on the bottom floor of an old Edwardian home, and is centrally located with multiple transportation options. You can walk to many great restaurants, two major museums, Haight Ashbury, jog to Ocean Beach or catch a quick train downtown to the Financial District and Ferry Building.

There is a private bathroom in the bedroom and a 1/2 bath off of the living room. The kitchen includes a mini refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, tea kettle and all utensils. There are laundry machines as well. There is also access to a backyard with views, deck and Adirondack chairs.

We live upstairs and use the main entrance. Guests access the apartment from a separate entrance on the street.

We recommend not renting a car. Parking is very easy on the weekends but can be a challenge Mon-Fri from 9am-6pm. There are multiple bus lines (6 and 43) and MUNI light rail (N Judah) transportation all within 1 block.

  • LOVE this place. Smooth transaction from booking through checkout. The apartment was as described and so comfy and cozy. It is well-equipped, clean and quiet. My husband and I were on vacation in San Francisco for our first time. We were able to easily walk to many tourist landmarks including the Golden Gate Park, Haight/Ashbury, Alamo Square and the Painted Ladies. We also ventured out further and got to see City Hall, Lombard Street, The Wharf, the Exploratorium, The Palace of Fine Art and The Golden Gate Bridge. We took a Lyft car to certain places including getting dropped off across the Golden Gate bridge and then walked back across into San Francisco. The views from the bridge are spectacular and the structure itself up close and personal was awe inspiring. This was an excellent first trip to San Francisco and we definitely plan on going back. If Jeanne's place is available, we'd like to stay again.

  • Made to feel very welcome - place was incredibly clean and welcoming. We arrived and left at slightly unsocial hours so didn't meet our host. Loved the view from the back of the house. We probably needed a bit more guidance about the public transport - the possibilities of which were absolutely endless - but that's partly down to being ignorant British tourists. Loved exploring the neighbourhood - area felt very safe at all hours. We walked from the apartment to Castro and all over Haight areas. Would stay here again.

  • This was Stefan's and my first AirBNB apartment. The apartment was awesome, super clean, spacious, airy and just as it appeared in the pictures on AirBNB. The washer and the dryer were a great plus. It is in a safe neighborhood and restaurants and cafés are just a couple of blocks away. It can be easily reached by public transport. Jeanne and her husband were great hosts and easy to communicate with. All our questions were answered within minutes. We would recommend this appartment to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

  • Great apartment perfect for our stay in San Francisco. Newly renovated, large, light and airy, includes washer and dryer. Excellent access to public transport (light rail and buses), local shops and restaurants, and situated in a great area. Hosts were helpful but not intrusive. Would recommend this apartment to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

  • As our first experience with AirBNB, we were exceptionally impressed. The apartment was very clean and tremendously spacious.

The location placed us right at the doorstep of public transport (After we got the hang of it of course). For the record, (website hidden) maps public transport directions ended up being the easiest way to find our way. That and the occasional Lyft when we were too tired for public transport.

The one issue we had is more if a personal preference than a flaw. The bedroom shades allow tons of light through in the mornings, while still providing complete privacy. Given our level of exhaustion touring the city, we had no trouble sleeping but would wake a bit earlier than anticipated.

The plus side to getting up early was the opportunity to try out the breakfast and brunch suggestions Jeanne provided. Grrrrrrrrrreat!

She was a tremendous host, offering advice and information well before our trip. She was very understanding of our travel plans and was very gracious in arranging arrival and departure time(s).

The fridge provided room for beverages and the washer and dryer were an added bonus (if only we had time for laundry) between seeing all of SF.

If you are at all on the fence on a location or have the opportunity to stay with Jeanne don't miss it. The neighborhood is great and the room quiet and comfortable, and the host most gracious.

Thanks so much for your time, help, room, advice and patience with us. I hope you guys stick around and gather much success in your AirBnB career.

  • What a find! Very comfortable and spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood, one block off a light rail line into downtown and bus service everywhere else. Everything in the apartment was bright, shiny and new- even the bathrooms were nicer than most hotels we've stayed at in SF. Jeanne could not have been a better host. There were drinks in the fridge and coffee in the cupboard when we arrived, and she provided a great list of recommendations for eating out and getting around. We would not hesitate to recommend and stay at Jeanne's place again!

  • My parents had a lovely stay at Jeanne's apartment. Very spacious accommodations with all of the amenities as pictured and bonus access to the family's backyard. Jeanne was highly responsive and the apartment is set up with a convenient access door to make comings and goings a breeze. This will definitely be my go-to spot for guests coming to visit us in the inner sunset!

  • This light-filled apartment was clean and spacious with a nice view out back. Safe neighborhood with great restaurants and only minutes from GG Park. Our first Airbnb experience and, yes, we would definitely stay at Jeanne's place again.
