This remodeled 1 BR suite is very near UCSF and 3 blocks from Golden Gate Park. It is a private apartment (approx 750 square feet) on the bottom floor of an old Edwardian home, and is centrally located with multiple transportation options. You can walk to many great restaurants, two major museums, Haight Ashbury, jog to Ocean Beach or catch a quick train downtown to the Financial District and Ferry Building.
There is a private bathroom in the bedroom and a 1/2 bath off of the living room. The kitchenette includes a mini refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, tea kettle and all utensils. There are laundry machines as well. There is also access to a backyard with views, deck and Adirondack chairs.
We live upstairs with two school aged children and use the main entrance. Guests access the apartment from a separate entrance on the street.
We recommend not renting a car. Parking is very easy on the weekends but can be a challenge Mon-Fri from 9am-6pm. There are multiple bus lines (6 and 43) and MUNI light rail (N Judah) transportation all within 1 block.
No parties, no smoking and no pets permitted. Quiet please after 11pm. You have privacy as we sleep two floors up from the apartment.
Jeanne and her unit easily earn 5-stars! We had severe travel interruptions, but Jeanne worked with us and kept us calm and comfortable by going above and beyond. And while I never made it to SF at the end, my partner did and LOVED the Jeanne's unit. He said it was the best Airbnb we've stayed at and we've been in several Airbnb's around the world. Thank you Jeanne for your hospitality, flexibility, and being such a fantastic host. We'd like to stay here again whenever we visit SF!
This is a lovely place to stay in a part of the city that many visitors never make it to. The apartment is spacious and well-equipped, the shower is heaven, the bed is very comfortable, and there's even a washer and dryer--an extra bonus if you are taking a multi-destination trip as we were. Being close to many restaurant, bars, Golden Gate Park, and shops in a relatively quiet part of the city make it an excellent place to stay, and if you want to go downtown or to the beach, buses and trains run right by. Make sure you walk up the hill to see the spectacular views from Grandview. We visit San Francisco frequently to see our son and have stayed in many hotels and airbnbs. This is our favorite so far; we'll be back!
Staying at Jeanne and Dave's place made our trip to San Francisco even better. The apartment was lovely, clean and had everything we needed including washing machine and dryer. The location was great and we felt very safe to walk around checking out all the great cafes and restaurants even late at night. Access to public transport was close which we used frequently and while there are restrictions on street parking we had no problems getting a park close by we just made sure we left for the day before the 2hr limit can into play. I would definitely recommend to anyone going to San Fran to stay here who wants to experience more than just the tourist hub area as the neighbourhood of Inner Sunset has a lovely community feel. Even the barista at one of the coffee shops we frequent knew my order before I said it. Our hosts were great and the welcome note contained useful information on facilities, getting around and restaurant recommendations. They even supplied a Guide book and map which was of endless use. Definitely another great Airbnb experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at Jeanne's place - it is comfortable, spacious, and immaculate. We took advantage of the access to the backyard, and enjoyed sitting out there in the afternoons. It is convenient to UCSF, and many restaurants. Since we stayed for a week, having laundry in the unit was a big plus. Jeanne was helpful, leaving information and answering any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!
Jeanne was a great host and very easy to get in touch with. Her place was clean and lovely. We appreciated the notes about the place and maps to get around the city. We would love to stay again!
Stayed here for a business trip and the apartment was fantastic in terms of having a clean and well-appointed place to stay. The apartment was exactly as detailed in the pictures--very clean with plenty of space. I really appreciated the personalized touch and having coffee available! Jeanne was responsive and accommodating. The apartment is in a great area- across from UCSF and you are within walking distance of the shops/cafes in the Inner Sunset and Cole Valley.
An absolutely wonderful experience. The location could not be better, great neighborhood, close to nice restaurants and transportation. The apartment is spotless and very nicely furnished.
